Earlier today, Famitsu.com released several new screenshots for Phantasy Star Portable 2. These screenshots showcase the game's communication system, online lobbies, story characters, and the return of the Evil Shark from Phantasy Star Online.

omg is that a last survivor in his hand!! and actual cave enemies not crappy reskins!!!! im so getting this psp version lmao and i just quit psu too. God its such a horrible game now that i quit i really notice just how much of a waste it was and with Guardians Cash coming out soon there really is no hope left for that game. So sad i really love the series.

I think PSP2 will have the better combo of PSU & PSO reference than PSP has now.

Also stuff like this,all this awesome stuff they COULD put in PSU but WON'T, and now seeing PSP (which hey look is free-online and has this Last survivor + An actual attempt at recreating PSO enemies instead of just throwing PSU enemies aruond and PSU costs ~$9 and got very little >>) is why i quit a whileback that and i got tired of "compensation". If they ever decide to actually attempt to make PSU more fun instead of going hey let's make another PoS sonic game, I'll go back (which I hope happens because i love phantasy star but i just hate what they've done to PSU :/)

I just looked at a google translation of that famitsu.com webpage and read this under the "story" section. "Suddenly the mysteries of life in our solar system invasion Goulart "SEED" is 4 sealed in mind that one of the two tribes. A series of "SEED Incident" from the end of three years. Just remember they are going to come out with a new phantasy star down the road for the home consoles and pc. there's no need to drop everything and buy a psp just because this is the latest phantasy star with some new options and content. don't freak out over this if you don't own a psp already. dont go out and buy a psp if you never wanted one before. that will be really stupid because you dont need a psp. you dont like the psp obviously you like the new game which will be junk when the pc and home console version comes out. what they are doing with this portable version is very intriguing but its only a sign of things to come for the worthwhile version. This will get hacked to hell and lack proper content for serious players. the new one for the home users will probably be totally new this is just a mod of psu. if you hated psu why the hell are you going to get this? for dodging? an online lobby? give me a break.

Yes but why pay ~$9 a month for crappy updates and lack of content when SEGA is releasing PSP2 with more features, a better attempt at PSO areas + it is FREE online

apparently SEGA believes because the PSU isn't doing as well why not make the free one better and not even attempt to maybe put these into PSU (that would be stupid and would in no way improve PSU, people who pay for online in now way want better updates >> /sacrasm).

Though I'm still not going to buy a PSP JUST for PSP2 I can see why some people might

I like the new features and new content, I love that newman Indian look we need that as clothing lol. hmm... monster seem fishy the big guy IDK but the sharks look like reskins of good old booma`s they still have there teeth,nose,head and body shape still and probly still have there attack pattern too, even could knock them to the ground like the booma`s. The pic even has the booma death cry lol, ST just doing things like they always do.

It's Actually a Evil Shark and the kid is a beast but yeah that is pretty cool ;P

I am actually thinking of buying a PSP for this, Dissidia FF, CCFF7, and some of the other games i've wanted to try :P

When they launch for first time PS:P, i was hoping that comes whith an infra mode, and make lobbies like others infra games... But was a fake! Now it´s the time for reppair the junk! It looks very attractive battle modes (exept for the rare chat sistem, i preffer to use a mic!), i use mics in other games and it not decrease the speed in-game. Overall, the game is still being in work, i hope bring us some other surprises!
