Guides - Point of Disaster

Quest: Point of Disaster
Description: Eliminate all the giant creatures that are infesting the impact site.
Client: WORKS Guard
Reward: Meseta Reward
Prerequisites: This is a Team-Only quest. It costs 3000 team points to unlock it.
Overview: Make your way from the Crater are to Subterranean Desert 3 within 30 minutes and talk to the WORKS soldier in the final room. After talking to him, you will fight Shambertin. Since you’ll have to move through several areas, each one is fairly short. However, there are restricted zones in each area that feature hordes of enemies. If you are not careful, you will waste a lot of time fighting the enemies in these zones. So it is important to choose the best route based on the levels of the characters in the party.

NOTE: The enemy count for the 4 Player route needs to be revised. Also, this guide will assume that you are taking the 1 - 3 player path.
Maps

About These Maps
On the maps below, the path the player should take is denoted by a red line. Doors and laser fences that are opened by pressing a button are also marked. Please note that switches are represented with circles and fences/doors with ellipsoids. Colors are used to indicate which switch opens which door/fence. Doors/fences that are opened as a result of clearing the room of enemies are not marked.  Since it would be impractical to label every single box, a green box is used to denote a group of boxes. Finally, traps, including damage, confuse, slow, and shock, are denoted using a generic Damage Trap icon. Like the box icon, a single trap icon may denote multple traps.
Crater (Eastern Route)

Walkthrough
  1. After the enemies are cleared, a WORKS soldier appears. You can bypass him.
  2. If there are 4 players on the team, press the buttons to deactivate the laser fence. You can then take the warp to enter a restricted area.
  3. The short path and restricted area route will lead to this room. Clear it and take the warp to Crater Interior.
Crater Interior

Walkthrough
  1. Once all the enemies are dead, the laser fence that blocks the way to Subterranean Desert 3 will be deactivated. Also, a WORKS soldier will appear.  If there are 4 players on your team, talk to him and he will deactivate fence that prevents you from entering the restricted area.
  2. Remember that there is a warp to Subterranean Desert 3 in the restricted area. Running back to the other one will waste valuable time.
Subterranean Desert 3

Walkthrough
  1. Heading south from this room will lead you into the restricted area. Go west if you have less than 4 players on your team.
  2. If there are 4 players on the team, Talk to Gilliam to open the door to the last restricted area.
  3. Talk to the WORKS soldier to stop the timer. After that, the boss warp will be activated. Please keep in mind that the restricted areas will be locked once you talk to the soldier. If you want to go back into a restricted area, you can use Ryuker or a telepipe. Before entering the boss warp, make sure you are well-prepared.
BOSS

Walkthrough
  1. Approach the rock to make Shambertin- or Kondrieu, if you are lucky - appear. Shambertin is a more powerful version of Saint-Milion. Since a full discussion of how to fight Shambertin would be beyond the scope of this guide, please consult PSOW's forums and guides sections for any Shambertin related questions.
