| (Assembled by Sinue_v2) In a far away galaxy, lies a sun, orbited by 3 planets. The Gurhal system. A place inhabited by humans, and their creations, CASTs, Newmens, and beasts. For 500 years, there was war among the races, a seemingly never-ending conflict. Then finally... An era of peace and prosperity that has lasted for 100 years. But now, a darkness has awoken, and threatens the Universe. (Opening Cinema) Episode 1 Chapter 5: The Divine Maiden (Cutscene) (Ethan and Headmaster Nav square off against each other in a Dojo styled training room. The pair spar with each other in a scene very reminiscent to the Matrix where Orpheus taught Neo kung-fu. Headmaster Nav easily deflects Ethan's attacks with one hand. It's clear that while Ethan's skill is improving dramatically but he still has much to learn. There is no dialogue in this scene) (End Cutscene) Ethan's Room -------------------- (Cutscene) (Ethan falls from his bed to the floor, wincing in pain at the soreness in his muscles after long hours of training) --Ethan: Graaaaah! Owowowow. (Ethan's vision phone beeps and an image of Hyuga appears as the call connects) --Hyuga: Ethan, you awake? --Ethan: Yeah... --Hyuga: Karen needs us. She just called. It looks like we finally get to check out Neudaiz! (Ethan gets up off the floor and walks over to the vision phone) --Ethan: Huh... Wonder what's up now? --Hyuga: We get to protect the Maiden! Oh, I am so excited! I can't believe it! This is the best day of my entire life! --Ethan: Happy, are we? --Hyuga: I'm heading off to headquarters early. Don't be late, okay! (Ethan waves to Hyuga and then yawns, stretching his arms above his head - then wincing in pain) --Ethan: Owowowow. (End Cutscene) (Talk to Pete) --Pete: So you wish to know about Neudaiz? --Ethan: Yeah, what kind of a place is it? --Pete: I will teach you all that is in my data banks. Is there something you'd like to hear about? (Ask about Tylor family) --Pete: The Tylor family are the rouges responsible for the attack on the Milate 04. They are very well-known among their kind. It's highly likely that they were after the A-Photon reactors recently excavated. There has yet to be an A-Photon reactor of that size created at any research facility. One would imagine that it is an item that countless entities would be interested in purchasing. (Ask about Neudaiz) --Pete: Neudaiz is the second planet in the Gurhal System. The majority of the population is comprised of newmans. Nearly 80% of the planet's surface is water and the people of Neudaiz live in harmony with nature. Neudaiz is a religious state governed by the Communion of Gurhal, it's national religion is the Gurhal Faith. There are approximately 500 million newmans on Neudaiz, with another 10 million scattered throughout the system. (Ask about newmans) --Pete: Newmans were originally a human attempt to create a superior breed of human. Many newmans are very affable in nature. However, others are considered to be elitist. So they are often thought of as having two separate sides to them. Newmans are often considered to be far more sensitive than humans and other races. They also may have a tendency to avoid unnecessary contact with strangers. (Ask about the Gurhal Faith) --Pete: The Gurhal Faith is the most widely adopted religion in the system. It's major belief is that the elementary particle "photon" or "Holy Light" is the source of all things and all events we experience. It is taught that the "Holy Light" guides us in our everyday lives. (Ask again later) --Pete: Hyuga is waiting for you at GUARDIANS Headquarters. Please hurry up and meet him. (Old Man) --Old Man: Neudaiz is a nice place, ain't it? --Ethan: Where did that come from? --Old man: It's been getting around that you've been running around on Neudaiz. --Ethan: (This guy must have some good ears!) ---(Again) --Old Man: It's been more than ten years since I set foot on Neudaiz. Even that was just a day trip... (Beast Male) --Beast Male: I'd go anywhere to be able to see the Divine Maiden up close! But until I join up with the GUARDIANS I won't be going anywhere. ---(Again) --Beast Man: It must be nice to see the Divine Maiden! Just being able to see her would be enough to keep me happy for life! (Gapard Raz) --Ethan: Hey, how about it? Have you thought about what I said before? --Gapard: About what? --Ethan: About joining the GUARDIANS! Hey, don't tell me you forgot already! --Gapard: No, I didn't forget. ---(Again) --Gapard: What now? --Ethan: Next time we meet, I want an answer, okay? --Gapard: Geez! Fine... The Maiden is very important to the people of Gurhal! ---(Again) --Newman Male: Keep the Divine Maiden safe! (Human Male) --Human Male: Have you ever been to Neudaiz? The culture and surroundings are a lot different from here. You'll definitely be surprised. You'll probably get to see the Divine Maiden, too! I want to go to Neudaiz again... ---(Again) --Human male: I wish I could meet the Divine Maiden. (Engineer) --Engineer: The biggest difference between CASTs and machines is CASTs are modeled after people and machines are not. Also, CAST intellect is furnished with the same emotions and consciousness that are found in humans. There's a law restricting the degree of intellect that can be added to machines... It's a comparatively small level. If I were to explain why, it could take a while... Suffice to say, machines would be entangled with the questions of ego and consciousness. ---(Again) --Engineer: There is no question that CASTs have the same level of consciousness as humans. But you can't really say the same for machines. It's a tricky subject. (Mikua Tesran) --Ethan: Hey, Mikua. (Nano Transformer Fan) --Nano-Transformer Fan: Nano Transformers use A-Photons. Did you know that? A-Photon crystals are created from photons using a special manufacturing process. Only recently were they successful in gaining vast amounts of energy from enlarged crystals. It's the energy of the future! The amount used by the nano transformer doesn't require large crystals, though. ---(Again) --Nano-Transformer Fan: The relationship between A-Photons and nano transformers is surprisingly not widely known. (Photon Fanatic) --Photon Fanatic: I'm not exactly a follower of the Gurhal Faith, but as a spokesperson for photons... I can say with assurance that the existence of the Divine Maiden is a wondrous thing! Our civilization has been around for thousands of years, but photons are something we can no longer live without. So is it really necessary to go out of our way to switch to a cold, machine-like energy... like A-Photons?! ---(Again) --Photon Fanatic: It's the Divine Maiden's duty to spread word of the benefits of photons. I, for one, support her efforts! (Astronomer) --Astronomer: When the SEED first appeared, the Gurhal sun experienced a surge in sunspot activity. But nobody knows why and there's very little data. Now, everyone has focused their attention on what's outside of our solar system. There aren't any scholars left investigating the mysteries of our own sun! ---(Again) --Astronomer: If I can get enough data to prove the connection between the SEED and sunspots, perhaps I can turn people's attention towards our sun! (Endy Fodz) --Ethan: Hey, Endy! I just found out I'm going to Neudaiz! --Endy: Really!? Man... Well I'm not going to let you beat me! ---(Again) --Ethan: Well, I'd better get going. See you later! It'll be our job to escort the Maiden to her shuttle from the Communion grounds on Neudaiz. If I remember correctly, Hyuga, you're a member of the Gurhal Communion? --Hyuga: Yes sir! I am honored to be able to help the Divine Maiden... in whatever way I can. --Nav: Good. That's the right spirit. --Ethan: But Neudaiz has it's own defense force. What do they need us for? --Karen: The Communion has been receiving anonymous letters... the contents of which hint at a assassination attempt on the Maiden's life. --Hyuga: Assassination? --Nav: The Gurhal Communion does not wish for any of this to be publicly known. That is the reason why they have hired us, instead of using their own forces. We will be deploying a full force of 200 Guardians. --Ethan: Two hundred?! Are you serious? --Hyuga: But Headmaster, I don't understand. I thought we were going to be the Maiden's bodyguards? --Nav: Sorry, but your job is to man the parade route... and keep an eye out for anyone suspicious. --Ethan: You can't win 'em all, buddy! Ohtoku City: ------------------ (Scene: Ethan, Hyuga, Karen) (Ethan excitedly runs from the PPT Spaceport out into Ohtoku City. Hyuga and Karen meet him) --Ethan: Wow! So this is Neudaiz! This is nothing like the G-Colony or Parum! --Hyuga: Ethan, have you just arrived? --Ethan: Yeah. Isn't this place amazing? --Hyuga: On Neudaiz, you can clearly see the influence of the newman culture. --Ethan: What is that mountain? --Hyuga: Oh, that! That's Mt. Ohtoku. It has been widely adopted as the symbol of the Communion of Gurhal. The water from this lake, by some strange force, rushes UP the mountain. --Ethan: That mountain... it's made of water!? --Hyuga: The headquarters of the Gurhal Faith rests atop the summit of Mt. Ohtoku. The Divine Maiden and Representative Rutsu, Chief of the Holy Light, reside there. --Ethan: Wow... --Karen: That's enough sightseeing. You two haven't forgotten what we're doing here, have you? --Ethan: Protecting the Divine Maiden during the parade, of course! --Karen: That is correct. There's a high probability that the assassin is already here somewhere. Until the parade starts, we should patrol this area and look for anyone suspicious. --Ethan: Understood! (The scene fades out, then fades back in with Ethan and Hyuga walking down a street crowded by people wanting to catch a glimpse of the Maiden. Ahead of them, a suspicious looking character is withdrawn from the crowd) --Ethan: Hey, Hyuga... Doesn't that guy look kinda shady? --Hyuga: Yes, he does. I was just thinking the same thing. --Ethan: Great. Let's approach him slowly. (As Ethan and Hyuga approach, the man runs off across a bridge) --Ethan: Damn, he must've seen us! --Hyuga: I'll go to the other side! In their struggle, Ethan's arm pushes hard against the suspect's face, smearing tearing off part of the false face and revealing a metallic skull) --Ethan: Huh? (The mechanical assassin explodes violently, sending Ethan tumbling through the air - his face and chest blackened with burn marks. Hyuga and Karen rush to his side) --Hyuga: Ethan! --Karen: Oh no! Plus, we can see these zoma without using goggles. (The Armed Servant dies) --Ethan: Hey... Hey! --Karen: It's no use. --Hyuga: What about the Maiden!? --Ethan: Somehow... it looks like she's been taken by the Tengohgs. --Karen: What a disaster! --Hyuga: But that means... the Maiden... --Karen: We're not giving up yet! The Tengohgs have a leader of sorts, called Onmagoug. It's their job to bring prize catches back to the Onmagoug's nest. --Hyuga: So you mean... There's a possibility that she's still alive? --Karen: There's still a chance. --Ethan: First off, we've got to find their nest! (End Scene) Mizuraki C.D. Block C-1 & 2 ----------------------------------- (Fight your way through to the Onmagoug's nest) Onmagoug's Nest -------------------------- (Cutscene) (Ethan's party rushes to the side of a rock wall outlying the Onmagoug's nest) --Hyuga: Over there! (Hyuga points to the Maiden who is standing within the nest. Three Tengougs circle around her menacingly. She is protecting herself with a form of photonic shield, but it takes much of her effort to keep it intact) --Hyuga: Maiden! --Maya: That Tengoug is going to get her! --Ethan: Karen, hurry! (Ethan looks to Karen who is also in distress) --Ethan: Karen? What's the matter, Karen?! --Karen: I-I'm sorry... I-I can't... --Hyuga: The Maiden! (Exhausted by her efforts, the Maiden collapses and her photonic shielding dissipates. Karen, also collapses) --Ethan: Karen! --Maya: I'll watch Karen! Go get the Maiden! --Ethan: Gotcha! Hyuga, let's go! --Hyuga: Ok! (End Scene) (Ethan and Hyuga are put into battle against three Tengougs) --Hyuga: The Divine Maiden has been moved to someplace safe. --Ethan: Great!, let's clean things up! (Ethan and Hyuga defeat the Tengougs) --Ethan: *pant* *pant* Is that all of 'em? --Hyuga: Don't drop your guard just yet, Ethan. Look up there! (Onmagoug returns to it's nest screeching and braying) (Trial Start) --Ethan: So this big guy is the Onmagoug! --Hyuga: To call him "big" is an understatement. (Shortly after the battle begins, Maya joins the fray) --Maya: You guys look like you're having some trouble. --Hyuga: Maya!? --Maya: Karen is safe for the time being. I'll give you guys a hand! Go for the wings to keep him from moving around so much! (Defeat Onmagoug) (Trial End) (Cutscene) (Ethan and Hyuga rush to the Divine Maiden's side) --Ethan: Maiden! Maiden! (A Communion Medical Transport lands nearby) --Ethan: What's that? --Hyuga: It's a craft used by the Communion. (Light Master Dohgi, accompanied by two servants, exit the craft and approach the scene. The two servants kneel beside the Maiden and use a photonic power to levitate her body and keep it from moving during transport. As they take the Maiden to the craft, Light Master Dohgi addresses Ethan and Hyuga) --Dohgi: I am the Light Master of Festas, and the Maiden's father, Dohgi Mikuna. Thank you for saving my daughter's life. --Hyuga: We are all honored to have helped you. --Dohgi: Let me bring you back to the city. I'd be honored. --Ethan: Thank you, sir!... But... our friend Karen needs help. (The three of them walk over to Maya who is tending to the still unconscious Karen) --Dohgi: Is your friend wounded? --Maya: No, all of a sudden she just passed out. --Dohgi: I'd like to look at her. (Light Master Dohgi kneels beside Karen and hums softly as he uses a recovery TECHNIC on Karen) --Maya: Ah, she's coming to! --Karen (sitting up): Ugh... I'm sorry, did I pass out? --Maya: The Light Master was good enough to heal you... --Karen: Thank you so much. --Dohgi: Please, it was the least I could do. (Light Master Dohgi then notices a glowing photon symbol in Karen's hand) --Dohgi: W-What is this? --Karen: Oh, I've had it since I was a child. --Dohgi: That is a Mark of Light! Only the highest rank within the Communion have it... --Maya: You don't say? Her real mom disappeared when she was just a baby. She's never been able to find out who her birth parents are. --Dohgi: So I see... Most interesting. If you wish, I could look into this matter for you. --Karen: Huh? --Maya: Did you hear that? Karen, he might be able to find out who your parents are! --Hyuga: Who would have thought... Karen being of Communion blood... --Ethan: Not me. --Dohgi: All right, lets head back to the Communion. (End Cutscene) Communion Temple ----------------------------- (Cutscene) (Ethan, Karen, Hyuga, and Maya stand across from the Divine Maiden and Light Master Dohgi in a lobby within the Communion) --Maiden: Words can not tell you how grateful I am for your help. Such courage is all too rare these days. (The Maiden approaches Ethan) --Maiden: We have a knack for saving each other. Well, I guess we're even for now. --Ethan: Yeah, I guess so. Just call me whenever. --Maiden: I am blessed to know you. Thank you. (The Maiden then approaches Karen) --Maiden: Thank you, as well. --Karen: But I... I was unable to do anything... --Maiden: Oh no, on the contrary... You see, you are my... are... My... (The Maiden's eyes grow dim, as if in a trance, as she collapses to the floor. Dohgi and a servant rushes to her side) --Karen: Maiden! --Dohgi: Mirei! --Servant: Maiden!!! (End Cutscene) (Cutscene) (Hyuga, Ethan, and Maya fly back to Ohtoku city aboard the G-Flyer) --Hyuga: What do you think's wrong with the Maiden? --Ethan: I don't know? Maybe she's just exhausted. --Hyuga: So, why did Karen decide to stay behind? --Maya: She agreed to let the Light Master do some more tests on her Mark of Light. --Hyuga: Karen... Do you really think that she is the daughter of a Communion clergy? --Maya: I don't know. Doesn't it all just seem like a fairy tale? Where they find a little girl who turns out to be a princess. --Ethan: I don't remember any stories like that... --Maya: Well, there are! She deserves it. I just want her to be happy. And I want her mother to rest in peace. --Hyuga: She seem genuinely worried. --Ethan: Just because they aren't related, doesn't mean they're not family. --Maya: Wow, sorry. Didn't mean to get all sentimental on you. Hey guys, you want to catch a bite to eat with me? --Ethan & Hyuga: Huh?! P-Please, no more of your experiments!
