• I have Good, Bad, and Ugly news

    The Good I have recieved information on new policy on the current situation in online activities and it appears ST will now be taking care of things.

    {User abuse}
    We are now encouraging user abuse reports to be sent in for all incidents. Representatives are expected to give this notice to their respective locations. We will be cracking down on all cheaters, "hackers", "coders", and/or reverse engineers. These reports will be investigated thoroughly and without prejudice. Those found guilty of extreme acts including but not limited to : Interfering with in game code, causing ill affect to any server to the extent of small instances, disrupting another subscribers data, hosting pirate or private servers for active games, "stream gaming", or using a proxy address to obtain information: will be subject to the full punishment of law as listed in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and the User Agreement all subscribers must agree to.

    {Pirate Games}
    It has come to our attention that some players have began creating "Pirated Game Discs and Streams". These streams are illegal. If you access our servers with these illegal copies, you will be disconnected, and your subscription halted indefinitely. Furthermore, you will not be able to participate in any Sega/Sonicteam/Sammy Corp. online server subscription services at the discretion of these individual companies.

    Here's to hoping this new attention works.

    The Bad It appears that a quest that was being worked on, the quest known as 多くの大きい物の退職 or Retirement of the Greats has been cancled due to problems in the coding of Episode I&II, and as such it is unlikely this will be seen any time soon, if at all.

    The Ugly Apparently Phantasy Star Universe is still only in the story board development stages. No indication of if the game engine has even begun to be worked on.

      Lets not forget they're concentrating on PSO again. Yuji Naka recently stated he wanted to continue making more PSO expansions

      I for one am glad to here that it's still that early in development. I'd hate to see PSU come out so late in this generations life. This would be a great title to have on or close to launch time for all of the next gen consoles. I only wish us console fans were getting Blue Burst /Episode IV...whoever decided not to consolize that should be fired! Would have been a nice hold over.

      i want PSU as much as any person but given if what has been said is true i think its for the best seeing as now we could possibly see a true Next Gen PSU which i believe would be far superior, besides we all know next gen machines will be around for the next 5-6years to come, where as our current gen machines are nearing the end of there life cycles, when it comes down to it, Sega would most likely get a massive amount more profit releasing on Xbox2/PS3/Gamecube 2 as launch titles then they would the current generation

      because 1: Gamecube modems are rare to find these days and the console isnt exactly a top selling

      because 2: the ps2 has awful graphics it would most likely degrade the overall look of the game

      because 3: xbox live is pay to play which people without a credit card couldnt play and knowing micorsoft they would require a live subsciption before anything else

      if what was said was true, then without an engine for the game PSU would proberly be released 2007/2008 on next gen machines, why? because it takes a heck of a long time t make a game, and then they need to test the game for exploits, make it hack resistant to the best of their ability

      ...

      by the way could someone give more light on the bad, i.e the quest that supposidly cancelled? what makes it special from all other quests, we"ve had complete levels as quests, i.e the towers, why would this be different, ah well shame

      hope we see PSU soon

      and power to the sega =p

      do you think Yuji Naka will focus more on the PC for PSO expansions until the newer consoles are released?

      As far as I know, it was supposed to have some storyline development leading into episode III.

      It took Sega two years of rampant hacking to finally make a user abuse form? =/

      The form went up 4-5 months ago, they just haven't actually taken it seriously yet...

      No evidence of a game engene.. not entirly true. Although not known how much, what for, and why, tiny barly visable running demo snippits can be seen in the original trailer last year.

      On the set backs mind you, my sources at various other magazines tell me that production has been slowed after an artist quit. If true, this could have been in protest to Sega Sammy's new rearrange in which Sonic Team no longer exists by name or logtype either anymore! I kid you not!

      i think someone from pso world staff should start checking the information that this jonathan_f sends in as news, i have a hard time believing that he freely emails sega and they give him this information.

      I think the "PSO should continue" hints from Yuji Naka are pointing towards a PSO for DS. And I truly believe that Dept.#3 is working on PSU for at least a year. Why should they have had a teaser video at last years E3 and have a homepage for a game up if you haven't even started working on the game!?

      (not a great fan of playing ONLINE due to the fact of all of the "cheating" that has been hapening and the monthly fee)
