Geez...again Sega shoots itself in the foot with this outstanding game...It looks like Sega and Nintendo *WANT* this game to fail...

If you people wanted a keyboard as badly as it sounds then you should have imported. Really, it's not that bad that a keyboard isn't out yet. Quit complaining and enjoy the game.

The problem here is that Sega's scaring away the casual gamer. Us hardcore PSO fans would have no problem importing a keyboard. But if a casual gamer sees that Sega has no plans whatsoever for releasing a keyboard at anytime in the future, that's one less sale for this game.

Only the most hardcore PSO fans will be buying this game. This game won't be a success sales-wise, thanks to bonehead moves like this by Sega and Nintendo.

this is from the SEGA site right? well, let's think about this people, SEGA announced earlier that they wouldn't release a keyboard, but we read just recently on this site that there will be a keyboard will be released in time for the US PSO release. Now let's put 2 and 2 together shall we. SEGA not making keyboard + a keyboard being released in US = a non-SEGA keyboard, wow how hard was that to figure out. Why would a keyboard NOT be released in the US? and just because the keyboard is not a SEGA one, doesn't mean there will be NO KEYBOARD. How inteligent does one have to be to figure out something simple like this. I mean I'm not a rocket scientist or anything, but it seems I'm smarter than most of you morons out there.

Seem to me that the only companies up to date these days are Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo and Sega keep making petty mistakes and bad business moves.

No, you just made up some fictionous news story. First, Sega said that a KB would be made, but probably not released in time for the US launch. Then they promised that they would make a keyboard availible for launch. Now it appears that they dumped the whole keyboard idea altogether. AFAIK, no party has stepped up and announced that they would make a keyboard for PSO. If you can find some third party's word that they will make a KB for PSO, then please enlighten the rest of us. If not, please remove your fingers from your keyboard.

Heh, don't expect future localized versions of PSO episodes 3+ if this one fails badly with the casual gamer.

Most of us know that it was only Sega saying it's not going to make a keyboard. Of course other parties might make boards for us to use, but if it was really important to Sega that we here in the US chat as easily as the jappenise players do, they could make a keyboard very easily.

And don't you talk down to us like that. You can hide behind that "Anonymous" name and call us whatever we want, but that doesn't make you anything but a wimp.

Look, none of us are throwing in throwing in the towel yet, and I don't intend to at all. Because there is no keyboard (I still think a 3rd party will make one though) does mean that PSO will be harder to play, and Sega or Nintendo should either make sure a keyboard gets into our hands.

I'm telling you right now to stop with the name calling. This website has rules about this kinda thing.

Did'nt someone mention in a previous post that ASCII has a branch company in the US? Let us go flock there and form a digital mob then! ...But eh, we will just have to wait and see how this is going to pan out.

Yesterday I contacted Sega of America Technical Support about the future release of a keyboard. Today I just received my answer.

"Unfortunatly I do not show any current or future plans for a Gamecube or PSO keyboard"

Well, there you go. Looks like we're not getting one.

An old friend of mine from the world of PSO said that SEGA is 'unofficially' going to include a mail-in voucher with E1&2 to obtain a simple keyboard( made of course, by a third-party company) via USPS. That, I think, sounds like a real possibility...or am I naive =/ ???
