    April 07, 2004 - Perhaps the biggest news out of the latest issue of Japan's Dorimaga involves a preview of what's to come in the next issue of the magazine. The magazine promises a new development in the world of Phantasy Star Online that will shock you.

    We admit to being totally clueless on what's up, so we'll have to wait, just like you, for further details. The next Dorimaga isn't due out for a month, but it's possible that some other magazine will reveal the big news earlier."

      Do you think they are going to download a new character class into our disks?

      Maybe they'll release a new quest or weapon?

      I don't think it's a quest or weapon... I can't see why they would cover that in a magazine... and why it would even be shocking. I also don't think it's PSOBB info... For the same reason as above that it would not be shocking... I think it's something entirely new... Whether that be a new game or not... We can only hope...

      That's not possible for the GameCube. You cannot burn additional material to a disc, and the GameCube lacks the available storage space to facilitate a new character class. On the other hand, it's conceiveable to do such a thing for the Xbox, but the additional material would be stored on the hard disk as a patch for the game.

      I'm thinking this must have something to do with PSO Blue Burst, even though this wouldn't be terribly shocking to us. Pretty much anything else would be out of left field. Keep in mind that gaming mags tend to be a month or two behind, as far as industry news goes.

      It'd be nice if they were planning to announce PSO 2, though.

      I hope its PSO Ep.3 for Xbox or at least some crazy info on the PC version of Ep 1 & 2 like more areas or something

      Maybe a movie with Rico and Flowen?

      Maybe a new game or game addition.

      Who knows, I just can't wait to find out.

      It'd be cool if it were a new Phantasy Star game. With the old ones getting rereleased, why not release a new one while the series is fresh to the masses?

      I remember reading a Q article in EGM a long while back stating that Sega was working on a totally new PSO game that would be completely different than the current Ep. I, II, and III series. Maybe this is it.
