• Xbox 360 Expansion Drops in Price

As of now, AOTI has dropped from 1600 down to 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live Marketplace. *For anyone on the 360 that hasn't yet experienced the additions the expansion offers, this would be a great time to jump in!

    *

Remember that you need a copy of the original Phantasy Star Universe to play the 360 version of the expansion. *Please also note that it does not add any additional content to the offline modes (only Network Mode).

    *

Update: The English press release has been posted here.*

A bit late for a price drop, isn't it?

Funny though because I was reading about the no maintenance update when I clicked on some random Xbox360 colored icon written in Japanese and this is what I found.

But that's cool PSOW. The one time when I spot something kinda newsworthy and it doesen't even get noticed it's all good. :P

Free?! And let all that scum in the demo flood the servers? No way. The current method works: people try the demo, those with cash who can look beyond the demo's population get the game, the rest stay out. We still get new players through there, and none of them got there to peddle smut.
Still, SEGA should press more game discs if they want as many as people as possible to take advantage of the price drop; discs are now "rarz" in most areas.

Bout time. They should make all versions free (not to sub), in my opinion, but this is better than nothing.

This is awesome. I've been a part of the ps2/pc servers for a long time. And have had 2 of my accounts banned. >_>
I haven't been on PSU on my PC in over 2 months. I was already considering switching to 360 but now that AoI is only 800 MS points I think I'm definitely gonna be making the switch now.
BTW, I just registered to this site today and this is my 1st post ever here! Yay for me!...I guess... :I

I'm not really sure if it was Sega or Microsoft's choice but I think that making the 360 version of AOI dowload only was a bad mistake. Because of the way it is set up, the only people who can play AOI on the 360 are the ones that bought the original PSU and did not get bored with it and sell it off since you need to own PSu in order to download AOI. If they had released AOI on a disc and sold it in retail stores they could have attracted new gamers to the PSU Universe, the PC and PS2 versions of AOI were packaged as a stand alone game, as a sequel to AOI ( with more features ). Seeing the game in stores would have attracted new gamers, especially ones who did not play PSU.

I think putting it on retail only would've had it's Pro's and Con's and the same goes for DL only.
I mean, seriously, do you have any Idea how hard it is to find Aoi for PS2 or PC in stores? I saw them on shelves for about a week after they came out and after that have never seen them again. When I was eager for the PC ver of AoI, I had checked so many EB/Gamestops until one day I was bored and in this gamestop about an hour from where I lived and happened to find AoI for PC in a bin full of used and new discarded games that nobody even wanted to look at. It took my little brother forever to find the PS2 version until one day one of the Managers at the EB in my mall actually took the time to search for Aoi PS2 in the back.
Square enix did the same thing for their new expansion of FF11 which is actually out on PS2, PC, AND 360 and that got little to no attention as well.
If only AoI was a downloadble add on for PC and the PS2 was actually capable of DLC then their wouldn't be a bunch of PSU vanilla players in the Ps2/Pc servers that don't even know theirs an expansion.
In my opinion, having the expansion be a download really because, 1. You don't have to look for it in stores, 2. Your actually paying for what it's worth not just the same game you already own plus little new features added for full price, and 3. because putting game content on a servers that you simply download off of cost a lot less money than having to copy this game to thousands of discs and spend money on all the DVD's you had the game burned to.
Of course, I think it would have been great releasing AoI on both DVD's and DLC for 360. But in the end if I had to choose one way it would be DLC.

Hmm.... like a week after I purchase it. It's been a little better than original PSU, but 800 points seems more appropriate.
Actually I purchased it on the 10th. Hows that for bad timing. 3 days later I could have saved myself $17

Hold the boat here, a person pays for the expansion on Xbox, however does not get the offline content....SEGA are taking the mick somewhat now
