• Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for $9.98 with 360 Game Purchase

We've had some nice Phantasy Star deals lately, with PSP on sale for $14.99 over the weekend and now an opportunity to snag Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection really cheap. For those of you who aren't familiar with this game, it's loaded with over 40 Genesis classics like Phantasy Star II, III, and IV (Phantasy Star from the Sega Master System can be unlocked too. Thanks landman!). In addition, you'll find multiple Sonic & Shining Force games, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, and more. Here's how the deal works:

Now through December 12th, purchase any Xbox 360 game at Amazon, along with a game from this list of "family" titles, and you'll get 50% off the chosen family game. As you may have already guessed, Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection is one of the eligible family titles, dropping its price to a dirt cheap $9.98. If you already own it, there are 10 other eligible family games to chose from, including Sonic Unleashed.

To further sweeten the deal, combine it with one of the Xbox 360 titles that are already on sale, such as Hasbro Family Game Night, Dead Space, or Mirror's Edge (as seen in the Weekend Video Game Deals Roundup). Any Xbox 360 game will do (including pre-orders), as long as it isn't on the list of family titles. The discount will show up at the checkout.

If I didn't already own them both, I would be all over Hasbro Family Game Night + Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. That's a ton of classic gaming fun for under 30 bucks!

I bought the Ultimate Genesis Collection the moment that thing released. And while I payed over twice that for the collection, I have not regretted it. Definitely one of those purchases, I would say, had the most good content for the buck. Maybe the majority of the first-party classics on the system. Alas, it was also one of the only reasons I didn't pick up the individual titles released on digital downloads. Well, except if it had 2-player online like Golden Axe.
Still, if you don't have it, and liked Sega Genesis games; it's a no-brainer to pick up.
