• Famitsu Spoils Sega Countdown, 360 Exclusive is Virtual-On Force

With just four days left on Sega's recently launched countdown site, a leaked copy of Famitsu has bypassed the remaining suspense and revealed to us Sega's upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive action title: Virtual-On Force. Surprise!

Okay, it's not the news many of you were hoping for, but Virtual-On isn't so bad either. Unlike Sega's previously released Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram, an Xbox Live Arcade port of the original Dreamcast title, Virtual-On Force appears to be a full retail title. The game is said to have online play, 2-on-2 battles, co-op modes, and a single player mission mode.

For those of you who were hoping for a hint of Sega's plans for the 10th anniversary of PSO, hang in there. We still have about six months before that date comes around and we'll continue to keep our eyes and ears out for anything that might indicate what Sega has up its sleeves.

      Virtual-On?
Ok, I guess we should have seen that coming. I know I didn't, but I loved the previous Virtual On so bring it on.

Sounds like pretty awesome news to me. Loved the Virtual on series, so I was kinda hoping for something like this...not that I wouldn't have minded something more PSO related, but this is still as awesome; if not more awesome.

i hope the 360 players don't end up with an HD version of virtual on mars.
bad boost system, bad controls, very slow movement for your mechs while your opponents zip all around you like mad. opponents dodging your attacks the moment the bullet left the barrel, bosses instantly killing you the moment the battle started.
but you could always imagine your playing a giant cast, the cast models and virtual on mechs look very similar.... well sega owns both lol!

A little unfortunate, I suppose, but maybe hoping that it was a new Gunvalkyrie or Panzer Dragoon was a little much.
Virtual On is still pretty awesome, though.

      AWESOME!
This game was made between VO:OT and Marz if I am correct, but it was never released on a console.
Hope it plays a bit more like the old version on the Sega Saturn. That one was ALOT better than VO:OT.

Awesome news, though. I definitely loved the series, though I never played it more than I have with the Dreamcast VOOT. And yes, two dreamcasts, the link connector, and Twin Sticks. I was a bit of a nut. I did like it on XBLA, and I'm comfortable with the dual sticks as twin sticks control method, but it is still the same game. Virtual On Force was the game that *should have* released on the PS2, but instead had Marz. Definitely not a good tradeoff. So I'm glad to see that anticipated arcade port title finally sees the light of day.
Now can someone at Sega please let us play Planet Harriers??? I'd like to see the game located somewhere within 1000 miles of me. I'm not spending an expensive plane ticket just for a few plays on the thing. I'm also glad to see more Gunvalkyrie fans. I played that game to death, but it was horribly underrated.
