Sega of America announced today that the release date for the highly anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog 4 game had been pushed back until "latter half of 2010." This was done to give the Development team time to continue "tuning and balancing of levels and interface and overall maintaining the kind of polish that an important game like this demands."
In addition, it was announced that the game will be made available to iPhone users by way of Apple's iTunes Store. This development was anticipated by many given that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be a download-only release and the rising prominence of the iPhone as a gaming platform. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is also slated to be released on Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade, Sony Playstation Network, and Nintendo WiiWare.
