• GCN Keyboard from Mad Catz?

    Darrin writes, "Mad Catz, a popular manufacturer of gaming accessories, is currently evaluating the possibility of releasing online gaming products for the Nintendo GameCube. This includes a keyboard. There are no solid details yet, but it is encouraging to see Mad Catz, and probably other companies as well, are at least considering the US release of a GCN keyboard."

    First of all let me apologize for not responding to you sooner. We have seen a significant rise in emails from people now that Christmas is approaching. Mad Catz is currently looking at the online initiative of all the gaming platforms. We are developing a strategy to provide online gaming products for all platforms. We are evaluating the possibility of online gaming products to the GameCube (including the keyboard). Please check back on our website for any upcoming announcements. Take care.

      Where did you get this information from? I went on over to the Mad Catz site and no keyboard is listed... Not even as a "coming soon" item. Oh and if they were really "evaluating" the market they'd see very few people actually play PSO GC onlinw; which is a real shame. I hope this is true but I will remain realistic and debunk this rumor... Even if a prominent news site were to report this it's just not feasible for this keyboard to be released to such a limited audience.

      Please give me credit on this. I went through the trouble of emailing Mad Catz to get this info for www.psunlimited.com give me(Outlaw[OoR]) or psunlimited.com some credit. I also posted this on IGN and got flamed for it... if you guys want the email I'll submit it as news.

      Dont worry, Agent Raev is a total XBOX humper, and he keeps trying to shame the people of the GCN version. He just hopes this isnt true so his XBOX wil finally have something to brag about besides Halo. Agent Raev, get a life or quit trying to ruin ours.

      I think Even starting A rumor that it may come out is Good. Maybe it will get some company to think about bringin one to market. I am crossing my fingers Hoping that a KB does come out. Mad Catz to the Rescue !!!!

      I am also on the Forum with OutLaw. He posted a topic that he mailed Mad Catz....he then gave the infomation to the site's owner. The owner then posted it as news, this is the same article as the owner posted on his site. The topic above this is also the same, WORD FOR WORD. I just request you to at least say where you got the information or from whom, to avoid plagerism. Thank You.

      Damn... still evaluating the possibility of a keyboard? When are we going to get this? Next year? Maybe next X-mas?! Damn Nintendo and Sega!!!! We need a keyboard now! Oh well... back to being Fulgore the mute in PSO.

      Hey i'm just beign realistic here. No need to go on the offensive... Fact is there is no audience for a Gamecube Keyboard. Why would they make something that made no money? I'll be stickin to Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 0 on my gamecube as I don't wanna buy a buggy piece of software (which PSO GC is). Let me guess you only own GC right? I won all three consoles... You wont catch me playin favorites often!

      Tell me about it. I have personally gotten a numerous amount of calls regarding that issue. Even a few from game magazines urging us to make one. All I know is that the development teams are working on the issue and if they have any info we will post it on our website. So keep an eye out for details as they become available. Take care

      Hey comeon man stop making the gc people feel bad. i am happy a keyboard is comin out. If the xbox live pulls that fee crap on the xbox users its going to be worth it for gc. If you dont have anything nice to say about pso on this site dont say it at all.

      Here's an idea for the people at Mad Catz or any other company that makes GC accessories. Make a keyboard adapter! This kind of adapter would allow you to convert a PC "PS/2" plug into a GC plug. I've seen a couple variations of that type of adapter from a couple companies done for the DC when the first PSO was released. I don't see why those same companies can't do that again for the GC. It would seem simpler to make, easier to package, and not to mention cheaper for the consumer.

      ..i honestly dont care who makes it, at all, only that ones get made soon in the near futhure, ..i could make shorcuts of all the obvious answer such as (yes, no, maby, not now, go to hell) but thats not how i want to share my Phantasy Star Exsperience. i also wouldnt mind if they shipped more than just two Broadbands!?!? a month.. sheesh, its rediculous... oh well, just do you job and if i can get one ill be happy....
