a kabanda with farla and the twins, lol, hmmm, do rare mags like soniti and others give photon blasts?

It depends on the MAG. If you had to feed it a MAG Cell to make it a special MAG then it'll have the PBs of its original form. If you find the MAG as a special MAG (ie. the Panzer's Tail in ver.2) then it won't ever have legitimate PBs.
