Why make such a guide you ask? Upon completion with an S this mission gives 4800 meseta, 43 mission points and a PA fragment and when done correctly can be done in 20 minutes or less making it one of the if not the fastest missions for Mission Points and Meseta.

Step 1. Getting There

This mission takes place on the planet Parum. Starting in the East District go into the Flyer Base and start the mission Mad Creatures. Finish this mission go on to the next lobby, Raffon Field Base. From here start the mission Plains Overlord and activate the crystal when finished. You should now be at Raffon Lakeshore, on the opposite side from which you came in start the final mission on the way to your destination, The Mad Beasts. After completing this mission you should be at the Temporary Base. Turn around and exit the way you came in and you can start Lab Recovery.

The exit to start Lab Recovery.

Step 2. Getting a Map Without Mizura (Bees)

Now you may be thinking "wtf aare you smoking Q, why does it matter if there are bees or not?" Well it does matter, quite a lot. A run with bees takes quite a bit longer than a run without because of they're large amount of HP and godly EVP, an annoying combination. They are also a large healin g sink for people with said techs, more so than any other mission because of the Mizura's annoying attack patterns.

There are numerous spawn patterns that you can encounter, however only 2 of them are completely bee free. There are 3 possible maps that you can start with in Block 1.

Map 1)
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_020831_009.jpg
This is how the map first appears and it is essentially one large room.

If you see a spawn of 3 Badira like shown below you WILL have bees,
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_020835_010.jpg
however if you have a spawn of 4 you must kill the first spawn of Badira, which will cause either Mizura or Volfu to spawn after. A Volfu spawn means no bees.

Whenever you see Map 1 in a run I suggest splitting your party 2-4 or 3-3 if you're weaker at this point:
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_032600_005.jpg

With 2 or 3 people going left to kill the remaining enemies and the rest going right onto the next block.

There are also 2 areas you can snipe with guns or for forces Ra- techs, Ra- techs only sadly. The left hand one is near the entrance where as the right hand one is near the exit to the next block.

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_090455_002.jpghttp://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_090651_003.jpg

Map 2)
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_020651_008.jpg
This is how Map 2 appears at the beginning and is a series of small rooms connected with hallways.

If you do choose to do this map and get bees there are a few things you can do to speed things up or make things safer. In the first room splitting 3-3 with help keep things going

As with the first room in this one splitting 3-3 speeds things up
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_032051_002.jpg
Splitting 3-3 is again suggested. A little bit after this room, you'll end up on a ledge of sorts with a warp leading down.

(Left one)Here you can snipe enemies below with a grenade launcher.
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_032146_004.jpghttp://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_032141_003.jpg
(Right one)From here any ranged weapon has a limited ability to snipe anything below.

Map 2)
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_020608_006.jpg
First appears like this and you start off walking in a narrow, lowered pathway.

In order to find out whether you have bees in this map you must first go to this spot:
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_020620_007.jpg
If there are Badira there then you continue past them and if there are Volfu then you are Bee Free.

Step 3. Making the Rest of Your Run Quicker and Safer
The only other randomly generated map you will encounter is this one
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_014739_000.jpg
Again, splitting 3-3 is recommended.

Later on in this run you will encounter this:
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_014933_002.jpg
On the other side of this wall there are boxes and when they are broken 4 or 5 Badira will spawn nearby. You can attack through this wall and hit the boxes, the Badira will then run towards you but be unable to hit you because of the wall making them easy pickin's for your party.

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_014950_003.jpg

And now we have the final map
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_075934_000.jpg
This map will always be Block 3 and has spawns of Jarba and Polavohra, there aren't any tricks for stopping megid, sorry, but you can mess with the Polavohra.

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_032837_006.jpg
Here you can see the Polavohra can't attack through the crystal, but you can http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q298/Q_Anony/Lab%20S%20Guide/psu20070103_032909_008.jpg
This will be the last screen, and if you do this just right you can get the Pola stuck behind that corner, ready to be killed.

Step 4. General Tips
I will break down various tips I've picked up doing runs of this mission by general class.

Anything Forcey: I strongly reccomended a high level Diga since you will be fighting numerous Lightning enemies, Ra and Gidiga are always a plus. For Jarbas 11+ Foie (to burn them), bows and fans are reccomended since they have a natural 1/2 tech damage resistance. Fan/Resta wand is a HUGE help in the final room, I can't say how many times I've gotten megided switching weapons and then restaing someone who needed it.

For anything Rangery: Anything with SE 3+ Burn or Freeze helps A TON. While you may want to use Silence I have NEVER seen a silenced Jarba, its damn near if not impossible to land on them. Any traps with a DoT effect are reccomended for Jarba spawns, 1171 damage a tick helps like you wouldn't believe.

Huntery people: Do what you do best, kill stuff. The only thing you need to be wary of is stray Megid, Dambarta and large groups of Volfu.

Final Summary.

DoTs are your friends and by god PAY ATTENTION. This mission is NOT hard if you just pay attention.

Lastly, if you have any suggestions or corrections just post away and I'll add/fix it.

Edit to the Major Edit: Just did even moar testing and found the 3 = Bees thing is true like I earlier said, at least as far as I have seen and heard (false alarm earlier) however, 4 Badira doesn't mean bee free, you need to kill the spawn and find out. Sorry for any confusion all the flip flopping caused. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Great advice - makes me want to run it.

Megid always leaves me sad however.

So, if three, bees. If four, go for it. Or something like that.

Very nice, sticky-listed.
A graphical guide is always visually more stimulating. Keep it up. ;]

I really don't reccomend starting with Map 2 at all unless your team is full of Fortechers since bugs just take way too long.

I was in a party last night and we used this exact tactic on this map. I think it should be noted that the bee free spawn also tends to have MUCH better drops. I believe we ran the mission 8 times and I recieved 6 Kerseline, 3 Vulcaline, 3 Nanocarbons, 3 Nanoresin, 1 Rayatore (which seemed wierd cuz it's Yohmei), 2 Chicotite, and about 50,000 meseta, amoung other things. Also dropped were Nanopolymers, 7* dagger boards, Hapotite and more. I believe there are more drops that we didn't see like Laser Cannons and Machineguns. We did have 3* luck, and I imagine we will do this run again, so I'll see if the drops are effect significantly by the luck.

This is by far the most valuable and efficient run BUT, you need a very good party to make it work well. When I say good, I mean smart. Like those willing to use their burn even though it's already lvl 30. We did have a very strong party though. All 60's, a guntecher, 2 fighgunners, 2 fortetechers (1 at lvl 10 with every spell over 21), and lvl 10 fortefighter. We had all S ranks, averaged 19-21 minutes, and only used about 5 scapes amoung all of us. As was stated, burn the friggin Jarbas. It can take upwards of 20 shots, though. Burn one, then moved to another and burn him, back and forth. If you are a cast, Sturm Buster is very helpful for the last room. Everything burns for big damage. If there are two casts, use the Sturm one at a time, so you get two sets of burn.

Also, it can take a while to get the right spawn, so if you choose to run the bee spawn, burn them too. My fire arrows do 1004 a tick and they catch fire very quickly from behind.

Good guide, btw.

Yeah, using burn really does help on Jarbas. People always ask why I use Foie on Jarbas since its so weak but DoTs just own them so hard.

So THAT'S why Gidiga and Gizonde are affordable for Q http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I was very dissapointed early on with fire bullets, but now they are easily my best weapon simply for the DoT.

This brings me to a question. What is the status effect of dark bullets? I've heard poison, stun, or confunsion. I'd just like to know because if it is poison, I'm going to get the junk up quick. Burning and poisoning Jarbas and Tengohgs will make missions much faster.

My understanding of the dark bullets is that they inflict infect - pretty damn good in my book.

I'm not up to speed on the proper terminology... Infect is poison right? Like when I get hit by the purple mist from a bel pannon and the green bubbles appear next to my name. That would be a great effect.

Something to add: you cannot hit enimies from that one ledge (the one you warp down from) with card/fans, they can't really hit anything that's too far above or below them, even if it has a little target on them. Any ranged weapon you can aim with in first person should be fine though.

Very good guide, I particularly like the picture of me looking like an idiot http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

If you have many high lvls and good trap usage it can be done in 10-15 mins. Thats what the party I was in was doing. We were steamrolling through the blocks.

Dark Bullets will do the same effect Virus G traps do-

Making them godly.

Special tip for those that like to serve as distractions...or tempt fate: In the final room, you can shoot at the jarbas and draw aggro on them. You can also strafe to dodge their megids as long as you're aware of where they are offscreen. Make sure that you have a spare ranged weapon handy and lots of scapes.
And also: KEEP MOVING! It'll save you from a stray megid or Damabarta..or a Polavohra
Another thing: IF you want a bee-free map, just abandon mission until you get one. A bit time comsuming, but so is fighting bees.
