"OSAKA (Kyodo) Momofuku Ando, the founder of Nissin Food Products Co. and inventor of instant ramen, died of heart failure Friday evening at a hospital in Ikeda, Osaka Prefecture, his family said. He was 96."

Japan Times article (http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20070107a2.html)

Since just about everyone has had at least one cup of the stuff I figured it was an interesting read, especially for all the students who eat it constantly.

Actually, Osaka is the place with Kyodo being the news agency where the report is from (Kyodo News (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyodo)) as his name was Momofuku Ando (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momofuku_Ando).
