Here's a listing of 300+ ISPs that will provide access to you:

Assuming you do live in Irving, TX... I just went to Google and did a search for an ISP that services your area. There are some national ISPs that you might be able to use (but not AOL) but if possible you may want to get a local ISP -- whatever you can afford, I guess. Of course, keep in mind that you may tie up a phone line and you will definately require a monthly payment to your ISP ($9~$15) as well as to Sega (was it $8 per month for a Hunter's License?) in order to play online, plus you need to buy a GC modem adapter ($35). You can try to get a broadband ISP as well, but they cost more ($25~$50/month) and you'll need a Broadband Adapter instead of the Modem Adapter.

All that said, the game is over 300% more fun when you're online -- unless you're playing poorly, or with crap teammates, in which case the game can really piss you off. Pick your friends wisely if you make the plunge, and good luck!
