We know fire (burning) and Ice do not stack, but how about others?

Is it strictly opposite element? (which would mean silence and shock do not stack, not confuse and virus)

If you have seen, or better yet have pics of enemies with mutliple SEs on them, post them here...

I think the only restrictions apply to DoTs (burning, poison, infection) and Freeze, in that you can only have one on an enemy at once

I know that shock and silence are not canceling, you can have both on the same enemy

Yes, I've seen shock and silence as well. I believe I've seen Freeze and Silence as well, but don't quote me on that.

I've seen so far up to three different status effects on one monster; shock, freeze, and silence. As Ether stated SEs that do dmg can not stack along w/ burn and freeze. Not sure if you can confuse, freeze, shock, silence, and infect all at once though but it would be hilarious.

Freeze doesn't stack with Confuse or Burn.

None of the DoTs stack with eachother. (but will cancel eachother out if applied at the same level, Burn canceling out all others)

Those are the only rules.

so I could silence a tengogh, then slap a virus on it, then shock it? (if I had crazy rifles/bows/techs)

Certain monsters are immune to certain status effects, but assuming the monster wasn't immune, then yes, you could.

whoa...I thought you needed higher level SEs to affect certain monsters, but there was no "immune"

Take jarbas: thoguh they are tough to silence, I assumed SE 4 could do it.

if this is not correct, then can you list some a few examples of which monsters are immune to which techs?

I'm sure many S rank enemies are immune to this but I like dropping a dot trap(Burn, Virus or Poison) then dropping a confuse trap...get the dot damage and a few seconds of mobs attacking each other for added damage(even if it is short duration, still lets you whip out your <insert weapon of choise here> and add even more damage to the equation.

I mean like... I don't think you can burn robots. So to my knowledge, Robot class monsters are immune to burning. They do take infection quite well though.

^*muffled chuckling as understated humor in above post*

Still I would want to confuse those robots and let them deal with each other.

confuse = pwn

I'm glad I'm not enough of a nerd to even know what DoT means.

NO, DON'T TELL ME.

(Seriously though I hate all these terms coming into PSU from other games.)

I've tried to confuse and infect at the same time but I just can't seem to get both. Maybe i'll try again once I get both to lvl 21.

I think it all goes out the window the second you start visiting video game related message boards...
