He's using a firebrand. It lights his way. It's made of fire. Get it? This is something from my sketchbook that I decided to take to higher places. I never even inked it. so sorry if the background seems last minute.

also could you guys please help me with something? Which do you prefer? The fire brand or this cheesier looking starwars one?

To those who placed requests with me: Believe it or not I am still doing them. You will have them before I die, this I promise.

nice, good shading, prespective and such you definantly have your own style with what you do, and I like the fire brand and the fact that it's made of fire. Overall it is very good indeed.

I love it. It's so Earthworm Jim, or something! And I like the fire brand better than the light saber.

That is some stylin' work there, Flame. Good job!

I believe you made the best possible choice choosing the fire brand over the light saber. It's a little fancier, and it meshes in better with the background.

Your articulation of the hips and shoulders is rather interesting, and rather efficiently reminds you that though this individual looks like a human, it is in fact, very much a machine. I'm also noticing that he's missing some of his armor. Also a nice touch, conveying to the observant viewer that he's been at this for a while, now.

There's only one thing that bothers me, though I suppose this may just be stylistic in nature. His feet look oddly flat, particularly in contrast to the rest of his body.

Thank you for the comments. That is an interesting point about the feet. Perhaps they do look like they lack a bit of love when compared to the rest. Note my trying to gloss over their lack of depth with color plz.

Speaking of Requests here is one I just finished for Rizeru! More speed painty than the Hucast above.

This looks like a pastels style.
What was it made with? Traditional media is so interesting when everything seems to come from photoshop. Was it actual pastels, or was it done in Painter? Also, I like the background, it's moody, like the mines, and you really get the sense that the gillchic is glowing, which they indeed do.

Good Artwork.

Is this in Mine 1 or 2?

Flame
Jan 16, 2007, 04:49 PM
two. It's darker and grimier there.

Right.

The deeper you go underground, the darker it will get...

I have to agree. The background creates a very intimidating mood for the overall picture.

It's got such a cool feel to it, I like how bright the CAST is compared to the background, too. And I prefer the Firebrand, too.
