I found a great way to level damage techs in Fight For Food S without taking any damage! This requires a high % dark armor, I'm wearing a 50% Dark Hoza-Senba, so bring your best dark armor. Look at the photos for a clear picture on how to position yourself.
Step 1. Fight through the level to get to SEED-Vitace
Step 2. Wait until he does the attack where he sticks his arms in the ground and the little feelers pop up.
Step 3: Align yourself 90 degrees off center, like in the photo below. If you have good enough dark armor, the tendrils should do no damage and no stun or knockback. If you are the correct distance away (see photo) SEED-Vitace will keep using the tendril attack until he dies, so you can safely cast techs.
Step 4: When 2 SEED-Vitace spawn, wait until the tendril attack, and get them lined up so you can be 90 degrees off center on both of them (see photo for reference) It takes a little longer to get them lined up, but once you do, they should just do the tendril attack until they die.
