View Full Version : Myths....

Well this is more about the show Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel. I was thinking of submitting an idea for a Myth to bust but I can't think of anything cool and possible to test so.....anyone want to help come up with an idea?

I'm sure if we found enough people who agreed with one idea we could have a moderately decent chance of having our idea considered to be put on the show. Though I'm sure (if we did get picked) our Myth would be on a show about 1/2 a year from now (at least) but so what? Nothing ventured nothing gained.

So, any ideas?

Heh, I can't think of any myth now, but I sure like the show. It's entertaining & educational at once.

How about:

Is it better to turn your pc/monitor off when not using it or leave it on.

I <3 Mythbusters(!) I'm not sure if they'd do the PC on or off myth because they already did the same thing except with lightbulbs, and I'm sure there are dozens of other, more fresh-tasting myths they've got lined up to bust. Hmmm. I wish they'd do tapping a pop can to counteract the effects of shaking it up. I seriously hate when people tell me to do that.

Slightly off-topic, but Kari is really adorable. If I were a guy, I would totally have a crush on her.

Haha, yeah! If I believed in or got celebrity crushes, one would be on her.

TV is usually for the not serious, but I guess Mythbusters hasn't done a show on this for their own reasons.

There's been Discovery Channel stuff on this before though I'm sure, meant in all seriousness.

If you mean in a 90 grade angle to body, then it's just a invention of TV, in RL you would hurt you while firing this way.

If you mean sideway away from the body with upwards or ground ward pointed muzzle, it's to not hit friendly people if a shot is unwanted fired.

hmm how about they test out the myth of video games being a direct cause of violence? It may not be the most interesting myth but if they prove that it doesn't, that kind of information being broadcast on cable would certainly make my day.

Jetpacks might be kind of cool to test, if they haven't done that already.

The more chance of something blowing up, the more of a chance you have of getting it picked.

This is what I mean...best pic I could find of it. No it doesnt hurt you, only thing it hurts is your aiming.
