MST and Tech level question

Just have a newbie question which has been bugging me since I picked up Ep. 1 and 2 for GC.

MST only affects your TP level, correct? Therefore technique level affects technique strength. In other words, if character A had 100 MST and Resta level 4, he/she will heal more HP than character B with 400 MST and Resta level 1.

Am I right? Thanks in advance for any help...

No, MST affects the damage as well I believe.

It does. I use a FOnewm, and whenever I level up, my Foi hits for about 3-5 more. But when I get a level up for a spell, it hits for (I think) about 7-10 more. And someone with resta level 1 at lvl 100 must be a pretty sad player... he he he...
