i've never owned a cat nor a small dog for that matter. Only dogs i've ever had were pretty much the perfect size for a 5 year old to ride on as a horse... i've always wanted a house pet but my dad don't like them ._.

I like cats. Nice, and out of the way. And even though im a guy, i think they are cute... but dogs...
If i had to choose between a cat and a dog, i'd have to go with dog. Both animals could keepme company at night, but my dog would seem like he was all hyped up on drugs whereas my cat would probably sleep

please note here that dogs don't wash themselves, and that their trust is in the adoption papers.
cats are clean, but trust is generally earned by you. That makes it so much sweeter to have a purring cat in your lap.

think here. You, for example, trip over the dog. great. he stays there, doesn't think about it. Now, you have to be careful around a cat, if yo hurt them accidentaly they will generally walk away and/or avoid you completely for a while.

I have seen a thousand dogs who love their master right away

You'd have to be an idiot to think that just because most cats are naturally independant, that they can't be loyal. Cats are like ninja. They're loners, until they settle down and become attached to you. They also like to flip out and kill people.

I've raised quite a few cats from birth, and all of them are very loving now, towards my siblings and myself. Why, one of them, the biggest one (17 lbs. of feline...), still acts like a kitten around my sister, and attempts to nurse from her arm, when he sees her. It's pretty funny, too, because the cat's quite large in comparison to her.

I, personally, don't really like dogs. If a cat wants to spend time with me, more than likely, s/he will just jump up into my lap and curl up, whereas a dog, would likely make a lot of noise, and want to run around outside, and sometimes I feel like relaxing... Especially since I have to deal with all kinds of stress due to recent events, and they provide much comfort.

They'll also just leave me the hell alone and lay on my desk, if I don't feel like doing anything with them.

25 pounds pure feline. about 5 pounds of paws, 7 pounds of actual cat, and 13 pounds of PURE ENERGY. when we adopted him, he was around 6 months, he was doing sumersaults in his cage! it was so fun to watch...
