Question! Why is it we are forced to pay 5k for hair alone…when in PSO ( and I KNOW it’s not PSO but still do we HAVE to be robbed blind?) It cost 1k for EVERYTHING. In addition!! Why, tell me please, do we spend money to by caps, bandanas, goggles, glasses *takes breath* cat ears, skulls, bows, French maid bonnets, and an eye patch. With NO opportunity of keeping them the next time we have a “whim” to change our outfit…if the hat does not match…we have to pay 5k again to make an outfit work, and if your like me, yes I change my out fit a lot, then you don’t wanna dish out 5k for a hair clip. At first I thought I was being cheap…but then I started calculating the money I spent on that frivolous bull…need less to say I got nothing on Morwen’s head…save her short cropped blonde hair. (NO FUN)

No... in PSO it cost 10,000 to change certain aspects. You couldn't change your face, proportions, ect. That was actually a huge step down from PSO v.2 on the Dreamcast which charged 100,000.

And if you really don't like the cost so bad - then sell some Photons for a rediculous amount of money and keep it just for customisation. It's about the same thing as pissing it away in an empty game, since it doesn't really DO anything for you.

seems to me on PSO it cost 10,000 to change that stuff? and in PSOBB, you needed a retard amount of team points. and on the ps2/pc game, 5k is a drop in the bucket http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

10k was like... easy street by the time you hit V.Hard mode in PSO. You'd need to look for ways to not cap your meseta

Yeah, PSO cost 10k. And you could only change a few things. PSU is actually far more reasonable.

Although, we all know how easy it was to get money on PSO. So it doesn't quite balance out.

It was 10,000 in PSO... Of course, that was probably a lot less if you look at the respective economies; but still, although 5k is a bit steep, it's nothing you should lose sleep about.

Like mentioned above. I do wish that we got to keep all the hairstyles that we have already purchased. The Sims: The Urbz anyone? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

the price isn't too bad, since it is meant to be a money sink anyway. It is annoying that you can't keep accessories, but you shouldn't be able to keep hairstyles. You aren't buying wigs, you're getting a haircut/extensions.

I don't even necessarily care that you don't get to keep the hairstyles/accessories - but I do with there was more variation and that you could choose accessories independant of hairstyle.

that's odd...I also remember it being 100,000 to change features...weird

Yep. It was definitely 100,000. 10,000 meseta was way too easy to make. Yep. Definitely 100,000.

Great. Now someone on the 360 is gonna whine about being poor, or someone on the PC with a "Jus heart" will complain bc they haven't taken advantage of the duped meseta by over pricing in shops.

I hope you're happy now. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

i earned my money, even tho it was duped meseta. i sold the things i worked hard to earn and i didnt charge that much. i only made 1 million http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif and really, how hard is it to live with 1 hairstyle for a few weeks? if you feel the need to change your hair to suit your mood you have other issues than not having enough money http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif your better off trying crack

Garnet_Moon

I earned mine too. Diads sell for 50mil a piece. XD

But, I do do alot of heavy synthing with NPC store-bought materials, so that helps the econmy. Take high amounts of meseta, dump it into the NPC for Scapes, rations, synthables, etc, then sell stuff back to players.

Rinse and repeat. x_X

It’s not an issue of “suiting my mood” evidently you missed that part. My point was we don’t get to keep the accessories, and 5k IS a lot in a game where money does not flow as easily, like PSO, THAT was the point, I like my hairstyle, I just don’t wish to pay 5k every time I wanna put something new on my charter’s head.

I agree with the OP. Hats should be another piece of clothing that you can buy, store, and mix and match as your mood suits. Hair I can understand costing 5k to change, it IS part of your body and not easily removed or changed (wigs notwithstanding).

I want a hat collection, dammit.

I would be willing to do wigs, but only if a critical hit could knock it off your head. That'd be damn funny.

They're talking about PSO V2 on Dreamcast, fool. Contrary to popular belief Ep1&2 isn't the first PSO game http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

STILL, would you rather pay 10,000??? every PS game is the same, you dont keep your changes, and PSU is the cheapest. so i dont see any point to argue. yes, it would be cool if you could keep your hats/accessories. it would just be one more thing to equip like your shirt and pants. but they didn't program that in the game. the whole system of changing your characters appearance and classes and EVERYTHING(except name face and shape http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif) is pretty damn sweet. so instead of bitching about losing some money, just be happy you have so much customization to begin with

if your having such a hard time gathering money, you should look into some other gameplay strategies. or prioritize. appearance/weapons

Indeed. I've been with the Phantasy Star franchise since Phantasy Star II on the Genesis. It's not clear to me that you're pointing out something that I wasn't.

Sinue_v2
Jan 25, 2007, 09:27 PM
To clarify...

Phantasy Star (Original Series): There were no character customisation options in ANY of the original titles.

PSO: There were no dressing room options. If you weren't happy with your character's look, you recreated and started from scratch. (The highest price)

PSO v.2: Dressing Room implimented. Allowed you limited after-creation customisation. Cost 100,000 Meseta.

PSO Ep I & II: (Both Xbox and NGC) Dressing room carried over from v.2 with no extra customisation added. (though there were, by default, more costumes available) Cost reduced to 10,000 Meseta.

PSO Ep III: Required completion of entire storyline mode as either Hunter or Arkz for each visit to the dressing room. (Arguably the second most expensive Dressing Room option since v.1)

PSO Ep IV BB: Requires 3,000 points, which are a pain in the ass to aquire.

PSU (all versions): 5,000 Meseta for Hair. 1,000 for eye color/options. 1,000 for lip color. 3,000 for skin tone. More after creation customisation options than PSO, and specific customisation allows for only certain (cheaper) aspects to be changed rather than paying 10,000 for a general makeover with all options.

I don't get why the looks are limited for certain hair styles. I mean, I can understand the lack of hats for the mohawk and the afro, but why is my hair (the twin pony tailes that are all braided) have no slim specs? Just the big round glasses and the orange goggle.....

And to the OP: MOMMY!!!

(Cookie for person who gets the mommy comment)

Ya. Like I really love my hairstyle but I'd like some cat ears to go with it! Or, what about different colour hats? ... Well actually, WHAT ABOUT POM POM HATS FOR DUDES?!?!?! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif
