Does anyone know if a USB wireless reciever can be used with the PS2?

My landlady has the router upstairs in their portion of the house, and I wouldn't mind getting my PS2 connection hooked up.

thanks in advance.

No. Only routers that can hook up to the cable slot will work, sorry man.

You could look for a so called W-Lan Ethernet bridge.
This is connected via normal LAN cable to the PS2 and "translate" to W-LAN.

But they aren't a little bit more expensive then a USB W-LAN dongle.

Easy Solution - Install a second (cheap) ethernet adapter in your PC and run an ethernet cable from your PC to PS2. Then, set up a local area network (Assuming you run Windows) to set up Internet Connection Sharing.

You basically turn your PC into a router. If you can get your PC online, then it won't be a problem to get your PS2 online as well - use DCHP (should be enabled automatically) if you don't want to deal with manually setting the IP and DNS settings.
