I havent watched it yet, but my friend (meeth) has, as she likes dragons, she couldnt get away from the film.

I heard it was a terrible rendition of the book - my girlfriend adores the novel, but doesn't want to see the film because she know it'll ruin her view on the whole story.

I don't know...it just seems like a very poor attempt at making another Lord of the Rings. But casting the main character as a teenager with a giant ego.

Personally, my faith is in The Golden Compass for being the next Lord of the Rings.

In my opinion, i thought the film was good and well done, although quite a bit different from the book i thought it was good. their were good points that the film had that the book didnt and vice versa.

I saw the film, and I wasn't too pleased with it.

It was rather dull, in my opinion.

Now, I have never read the book, (or intend to) but it just seemed kind of like a bunch of different fantasy novels mashed up into one.
