So after I got extremely tired of the constant bad frame rate on the PSU version, I went ahead and bought the PC version of PSU.

Now it turns out that after installation, I double click the icon. Takes me to the menu where I choose Story or network mode and no matter which I pick, nothing happens. It menu just closes and nothing loads.

My PC has a AMD 64 processor, 2 gigs of ram, and a decent ~256mb Nvida video card. So it's not my PC.

And yes, I tried reinstalling several times.

Any ideas?

Double post.. couldn't find an edit button lol. =x

But I tried taking down my firewall and that pretty much did nothing as well.

You will have to install the directX from the PSU cd.

Yes indeed. Like Sab said, there is something in the DirectX version on the CD that isn't present in default DX installations.

Bugged the hell out of me for an hour when I first got it on my laptop.

Err.. that was one of the first things I installed before installing the actual PSU.

I'll try again though.

Have you tried the latest drivers for your vid card? I know that piece of advice is flung around a lot, but it can't hurt.

Yeah I tried that as well even though my PC is only a month old but did it anyway. No luck so far.

Took the CD back to the store and told them it was a defective CD (it didn't have any scratches or anything though), and they swapped it for a new one. Guess what? Now it mysteriously works. o_O; lol.

You may very well have gotten a bad press. It does happen. Glad to see you resolved it though!
