A more detailed description of the problem as well would be helpful.

(though personally, I think LW eats up too many system resources - and would personally stick to BitTorrent)

Yeah, more info would help.

Personally, I use SoulSeek, and I encourage you to do so.

Limewire from what I hear is an aweful program to use. Got virus protection?

See if limewire is blocked by your firewall.
Or maybe you downloaded a bad version.

I second the Soulseek nomination. Limewire is junk, and so are a lot of the files floating around on its network.

As a warning though, Soulseek doesn't work on Windows XP SP2 because you can't download files. However there is a way to do it, but it's risky =/

I have XP with SP2 and I don't have any problems running Soulseek. I didn't do anything special to get it to work, either.

O rly? I guess you're lucky then. I have 4 comps in my house w/ XP SP 2 and they can't download files at all. There's even an article in the FAQ about it...

Maybe it's that I don't have XP's lame firewall running.

I don't buy CDs either... I steal 'em! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I have no idea what "Limewire" is, but since this seems to have to do with music I'll say: What about iTunes?

I'd never use iTunes.

If I'm going to buy music, I should be getting the physical copy of it, not some digital stuff that I could get for free on another program. >_>

I'm the same. I despite iTunes personally, and it's a damn shame Tower Records had to go out of business a while back. Can't exactly find the music I like at Target or Wal-Mart really. . .

I guess it's a sign of the times.

Not really true. Several people go out to buy records. Not everyone has PSP/I-pod/Mp3 player. Some folks get them for reference.

Sorry to go OT, but I have a Q for the buyers/second-hand buyers:
What is it about the physical copy that most attracts you: is it the higher sound quality (even if, some believe, in practice, a person cannot discern the difference between a CD and high-bitrate digital file, especially with a less-than-high-end audio system) or the associated paraphernalia (jacket, inserts, etc)?
