Pokemon Battle Revolution Wii's First Online Game
Online kits now in the hands of developers, too.
By Patrick Klepek, 02/09/2007
WiiConnect24 is a neat little experiment, but most gamers are just a bit more interested in head-to-head online play, something that could have been incredibly valuable in a game like Red Steel or Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. The infrastructure simply wasn't there, but Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime says they're on the ball now.

During a D.I.C.E. interview conducted by The Mercury News, Fils-Aime revealed Pokemon Battle Revolution would be the first Wii title released with online play and online development kits are now starting to get into the hands of developers, so we should see more of that in 2007.

That means no more of that lame Wii-Code ish.

Isn't that the one where the one lady died?
If so I feel REAL sorry for those kids. Their mother died so her kids could play a game. Thats a horrible way to go. I wouldn't even want to play the Wii after that, I'd associate it too much with my mom's death.

In before "PBR USES FRIEND CODES WII ONLINE SUCKS LOLOL."

Fact of the matter is that PBR only uses Friend Codes because it interacts with the most recent Pokemon incarnation on the DS.

With that out of the way, now no one can complain.

Go for the Online Wii, but lets get real guys, it wasn't Nintendo fault, it was the Radio Station and the DJ idea fault.

But that show its already out of the air, and that people was fired, within a 24 hr notice.

I don't even think she won the contest, Did she? I Live near the area where this all went down. (As In I can tune in that station close.) It is still quite big news here, and is talked about a lot.

See, Everyone I Talk to knew that could happen. I've assumed it was common knowledge up untill recently. So to a point, The DJ's should have known better. Especially since during the broadcast one said "Can't they get water poisoning and die?" Which was responded to with "We made them sign disclaimers". So to me, it sounds like they knew it was at least a possibility.

But to be honest? The Woman should have known as well. as I said, I thought it was pretty common to know that.

(And no, Don't think I'm saying anything negative about you about not knowing, as it may not be as well known as I believe it is.)

From this news segment that you gave us dizzy, I don't see what you are using to say that there will be no more friend codes.

On a side note, I am getting a job soon which will lead to a DS and a Wii hopefully. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Just a point out, it's not exclusively friend codes, but they are there http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif
