what stat affects your magical def is it your def or is it your mst or tp just curious ty

Your magic defense is called MST (Mental Strength). Physical defense is called DFP (Defensive Power).

MST is its own stat just like DFP. In terms of racial ability, MST is the same as TP: Newmans > Humans > Beasts > CASTs. In terms of class, it's Fortetecher > Wartecher > Guntecher > Protranser = Fighgunner = Fortegunner = Fortefighter.

//EDIT: Note that MST does not decrease the likelihood of status effect unless the attack does 0 damage.
