A looong time ago, there was a thread for friend codes.

Given the fact that Nintendo warns against posting friend codes because people can use them to log on and play as you.. (I've never heard stories of this, but if Nintendo is recommending against it, I'm not gonna ask why.)

I finally got a DS the other day and just picked up this game. It might take me a little while to really be ready to welcome visitors, but I was curious if anyone from this board still plays as I'd love to check out some other towns and have some people come visit mine. And bring fruit! My town only has cherries.

Feel free to post a response here and/or PM me. Though if you wish to send a friend code, play it safe and PM that, and I'll send you mine as well.

I havwe one question, though, if you change the in-game clock (Because sometimes I can only play at midnight and and Tom Nook isn't open...) but not the DS clock, how does that affect going on Wi-Fi? Will it mess up anything?

the game runs on the ds clock. change the ds clock, buy your stuff, change the clock back. yeah. four resets or so. but meh, what choice have you?

I was aware of that thread, but the majority of the responses are a year old, I wasn't about to assume that any of those people are still actively playing.

I think you might be mistaken about the game running off the DS clock, as I've changed only the in-game time without problems (done by checking with the phone before selecting a character.)

the game is great... first thing I got. reccomendation: do NOT time travel, It screws your town and makes the game boring.

Time Travel? Soooo.... I need to rearrange my whole life just to be able to play ACWW at times when people are awake? I apologize for having to you know, work and stuff. I've only adjusted the clock by a couple hours so that I can check out the shop and sell stuff. I'm not one of those people who sets it to like Christmas or New Year's to get the free bells and stuff.

I do the same thing in regards to moving time back or forward just a few hours, never days or months.

My WIFI stopped working a while ago for my DS, around the time my router was acting up.
So I wouldn't know exactly how it would effect the going online portion.

Once when visiting a member here who was in a different time zone, their shops weren't open as a result, if that helps any.

Here's links to some communities with forums and probably can answer your question better Trystan:

never said I change the clock. I just said that's a method that works. I get out of school at 4:30. I have 5.5 hours till he closes up at 10, 11, or so. havn't played in a while. >_>
