I'm not sure I understand why this is so shocking. Nintendo's next generation console has already been released for several months, now. This is like someone wrote an article to let people know that Clinton's no longer president because his second term expired.

What I would like to know form those figures the writer was refering to, however, is this: How did sales of the PlayStation 3 in the first five weeks of 2007 compare to the sales of the PlayStation 2 in the same period? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

We silly humans must state the obvious. Then restate it for clarification just to be sure everyone knew of the obvious. That is one thing that the Hitchhiker's Guide is spot on about. (at least, the BBC miniseries was as I've not read the books)
