Has anyone tried or succeeded in synthing a Twin Harisen Fan with El or Im photons? I ask this because...well...the % of success becomes VERY VERY low....causing my curiosity to peak at very very high.

It's the same for any weapon: using incorrect photons causes the percent to drop, and I have yet to suceed at one. Not sure if I tried for 1000000 tries if anything would happen or not. Probably not. photons are melee, ims are ranged, and els are magic.

I'm aware of the whole percentage drop thing but I've heard stories of different Photons (Im's and El's in particular) creating different Melee weapons. Oh well.

(And wouldn't ya know it, my Twin Harisen's with 88% success failed :/ )

I tried this once on crappy weapon boards. Nothing changed for either Im's or El's http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Actually, the change is a rarity drop, I think...

but that doesn't make any sence, if im/el photons lower the success rate like crazy, they have to give something in return!

I was cuious about that too. I tried using im photons on a phantom line as a joke. The chance of success was only 15%, but to my surprise it worked. Unfortunately the armor is no different from using normal photons.

Im is for guns el is for rods....It makes sense that using improper components would alter your end result (Especially if it makes the weapon worse)

Just because you do something the hard way doesn't nec. mean you will be given a bigger reward.
