every time i go to log on to network mode(for ps2)it says there was an error with the dnas or dns connection thing does anyone know what that means

It means that either the server is down (which is highly unlikely) or your connection is not functioning. You may have a faulty connection or may not have it connected properly. How do you have your connection configured? Router port or what?
