So I took a break from PSU around christmas (just before the bruce's update), and am planning on returning. What has been updated/changed in the last couple months? Do we have a lot more items and missions, is the hacking still prevalent, etc...

Also, are there substantially less people playing than before? It was slowing down a lot when i took my break, what's it like now?

Hacking is basically gone.There arent many new items....excpet the kubara counterparts.

When did they fix the hacking, and how? I've been gone for a while too.

on feb 23, with a GG update a client patch(i think we got the patch to, anyway).

did this patch fix the economy or is everything still inflated?
also, how is the server population?

The patch fixed the hacking. Hacked meseta still circulate, but it's diluting slowly away. The economy will eventually go to a reasonable state.
