Burn or infect

Burn kills faster but Virus will do more damage in the end. It's preference.

Virus. Pretty much land 1 shot, and the enemy is dead if you have a team that can kill fast, plus you don't have to worry about re-applying it.

i know it says regardless, but burn on anything thats not light or fire, dark on anything that is light or fire

with lvl 19 burn bullets, you'll probably keep re-applying it when attacking someone so it'll kill faster.

The only time I've seen infect be more effective than burn is block 3 of lab S2. simply because that's about the only time where all the enemies will last the full 40 seconds to get the full effect from infection. On any non-large size enemy burn is far superior, and if there is only 1, or maybe 2 large enemies that everyone is focused on, burn is still probably better, because it wont last long enough for infect to really rack up the dammage.

I'd say Infect is better on weapons that are NOT rifles and bows. The Burn is a lot more effective throughout the later part of the game along with the fact it will kill faster when reapplied.

Infect does its job on pistols, crossbows, cards, shotguns, etc.. The damage infect does takes a long time but it IS free damage and it's a lot of free damage for a not-so-powerful SE-wise weapon.

The other bonus with infect is that an enemy can simulatenously be infected and frozen whereas enemies can't be burned and frozen at the same time.

I use Infect most of the time, being that i have that on almost all my weapons. though I still use burn from time to time.

I'm partial to the infection/freeze combo. I rather like any sort of damage over time, though--they can make Mizura, Goshin, and Bul Buna almost bearable to face. Almost.
