My lineup is always:

-Bow (I'm poor, and not a hacker n00b. I have a life, so I don't own an Alteric +10.)
-Howrod-Target spell/Resta/Retirer/Deband x5

Target spell is whatever I feel like levelling. Right now it's Dambarta, it'll probably be Barta afterwards.

Rod (All Fire) - Foie/Rafoie/Damfoie/Shifta
Rod (All Ice) - Zalure/Rabarta/Dambarta/Deband
Rod (All Lightning) - Zonde/Razonde/Gizonde/Zodial
Rod (All Holy) - Resta/Reverser/<blank>/Retier
Cards (Holy) + Wand (Ground) - Diga/Radiga
Cards (Dark) + Wand (Dark) - Dammegid/Ramegid

I have the wand with ground so I can 'speed cast' Diga, and since there are no ground or dark buffs, I don't have them on rods.

On my Fortetecher:
- Cometarac (Resta/Reverser)/Beamgun (until I can use a Kikami)
- Mayrod (Shifta/Deband/Zodial/Retier)
- Granarodoc (Jellen/Zalure/Zoldeel/Radiga)
- Mayrod (Foie/Gifoie/Barta/Gibarta)
- Howrod (Diga/Dambarta/Razonde (will be Noszonde)/Rabarta)
- Mayrod (Resta/Reverser/Retier (Retier for the boost) )

Then I have a Bow off-pallette.

Hm... I'm planning on eventually making the bow a switch-out item for another rod, but keep it in my inventory. Anyways:

Ageha-Kikami + Cometara-Lightning element; rabarta+dambarta
Granarod-Diga+Resta+Dambarta+Foie
Hanmateri-Fire element; sometimes ice
Granarodoc-Jellen+Resta+Reverser+Giresta
Ageha-Kikami + Lidra-Dark element; damdiga+nosdiga
Rayharod(7)-The 4 Buffs

As for the cards, I'm always changing what element I use, so I just posted the one I usually use.

Mattardo
Apr 8, 2007, 07:46 PM
I use a pointy stick. And also elemental rods, a card paired with a wand linked to diga and resta. A bow for when I'm bored. Healing rod, buff rod.

Pivotal
Apr 8, 2007, 08:25 PM
Alteric/Majimra - Wildcard spot (depends entirely on mission)
Majimra - Gi/Ra of proper element
Cometarac - Resta/Reverser
Majimra - Gi/Ra Proper Element
Howrod/Majimra - Gi/(Diga|Foie|Ra Tech) of Proper Element (rod for dam techs/megiverse)
Granarodoc - Buffs

Correction: leave that to Acrotecher WHEN THEY COME OUT. For now, you still have a support/nuke role. Not just a nuke role.

I usually have two rods and 3 wands on my palette. And a bow. From time to time I change out my bow for another wand though, and sometimes I change out a wand for another bow. It just depends on where I am and what I'm doing.

----------------------------------
My current palette:

Bow

rod#1: buffs
rod#2: debuffs, resta

wand#1: resta, reverser
wand#2: attack tech, attach tech
wand#3: attack tech, attack tech
-----------------------------------

The attack techs I use vary depending on where I am. For most boss fights I only need one attack tech so I'll substitute the other on each wand for resta. Sometimes I also change out my wands for rods and add resta and reverser to each along with my 2 attack techs because I'm able to play support better that way. I don't feel comfortable using rods without resta on them.

Howrod = diga, nosdiga, radiga, gidiga/damdiga depending on local
Howrod = dambarta, rabarta, gibarta, zalure
Mayrod = foi, damfoi, rafoi, jellen
Mayrod = noszonde, gizonde, razonde, zodeel
Granrodoc = shifta, deband, zodial, retier
Cometaroc = resta, reverser + kikami = dark cards

Of course this is all situational. for instance, if I were in the holy relics, I would add my other mayrod with dark techs linked..

He he he Here's my config

1- Granarodoc Buff spells
2- Mira-kikami + Majimra (resta + Attack (1))
3- Mira-kikami + Majimra (resta + Attack (1))
4- Mira-kikami + Majimra (resta + Attack (2))
5- Mira-kikami + Majimra (resta + Attack (2))
6- This spot alternates between bow (dark shot) or a Rod linked with reverser resta nosdiga jellen

Attacks on majimras are adapted for area (and i have 6 backup ones in my invent)
This config hasn't failed me yet it let's me nuke fast (ok not at 100% efficiency) and take care of the rest of the team (even if i hate the supportive i still do it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif)

My current config is 6 dark 1* rods though...

this is how i play now, and ive never been kicked from a party.

so the way i play is perfectly fine.

Apr 9, 2007, 09:10 AM
I always play with the idea that any kind of party arrangement could be with me. Yes, some of my stuff may get less use in a group with *certain* party classes, but I never forget about it, since without certain classes (or with one who concentrated on specific other techs), they do get used.

Even after all that, you'd be surprised how often I used support spells, with a fT in the party. Part of it is due to covering area, another is the fact that you can't dictate how anybody else plays their character. If they go all offense, the responsibility of other things can fall upon you.

I guess this further answers a question asked about *who plays a game with the intention of support?*.

Rashiid

some people think i just dont support.

i support like crazy.

but ONLY when its needed.

i dont babysit for shiit.

Akaimizu
Apr 9, 2007, 09:23 AM
I know there's a difference between babysit and support. I just voice my mentality on things. My mentality (when going full out), is generally party-first, me-second. That's just my way. Of course, as a GT, most are understanding of my limits. I do find it humorous, when they don't though. Cases where they want me to go through a metaphorical mine field that's too strong for me to get to them.

I actually appreciate attack forces, because they do contribute in allowing me to run around and perform some maintenance.

The question is which version are you on though. I am on PC so when I switch weapons I can cast another tech instantaneously. Because of that right now I have 7 rods with me one for each element and then a buff rod. I have played this way so long that I don't even need to think about which way and how many spaces I need to move in the pallette to switch to my Resta rod when someone falls close to 1/2 HP. How fast your system is really dictates how you can play fT. Unfortunately PS2 users options are often very limited. Also a good force is one that can find a balance between support and attacking. A force that only supports and never attacks can slow the party down just as much as one who only attacks.

And a lot of people, apparently. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd make a video of a run of something, PJ, but then again, its not like we care what this kid thinks.

And learn the difference between support and babysitting. The only time you can even call it babysitting is if a level 80 FO is helping in C rank missions, or some stupid example like that.

I have more weapons then slots actualy

Platte:
Fan/wand- resta/reverser-dark fan
Fan/wand- retsa/megiverse- ice fan
Fan/wand- diga/radigga- dark fan
Rod- dambarta/rabarta/barta/gibarta
Rod- megiverse/dammegid/ramegid/nosmegid
Rod- all buffs

Reserve weapons:
Crea saber- light
Bow- no element
wand- resta/reverser
wand- resta/foie
rod- debuffs/resta

Mostly I have reserve weapons for when poeple start going all nooby on me and stop dodging. Though I have at least someway to tag monsters even if I run out of PP for whatever reason. It rarely comes down to me using the saber though.

Babysitting as a fortetecher is not as bad as a guntecher at least
I'm just a poor guntecher, so my resta is the worse of all techers, and when there's no force (or the ones that are don't even heal themselves) it falls to me to heal/buff.
At least you (the fortetechers I mean) have the range to just cast resta and heal the dying hunter instead of having to try to chase him all across the field, wasting unnecesary pp... because they just keep running away from me, and then wonder why did my wand ran out of pp so quickly when they DO come to me http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif
(but that will change in AoI http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif )
I guess I like babysitting... so long the babies behave well enough. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
