One of the greatest multiplayer-based puzzle games evar was just announced for the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and as a digitally-distributed title for PC: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.
Joystiq article. (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/super-puzzle-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-for-xbla-unveiled/)
It includes rebalances and new modes, one of which (Y-Mode) is about lining up three or more gems in a row, column, or diagonally, whereas another (Z-Mode) turns the game into more of a Tetris Attack-style puzzle game, with manipulating gems on the field, and lines coming up from below. There's also X-Mode, which is, apparently, some form of rebalanced core game.
Oh, and online play, of course. I'll have to put something other than NiGHTs, Shining the Holy Ark, or Panzer Dragoon Saga into my Saturn to get ready to pwn some newbs as Dan. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif (Or just bust out ye olde GBA game)
It's supposedly getting released this summer, too. Looks like I've got my next Arcade purchase planned out.
Oh, and I guess Capcom kinda announced yet another remake of Street Fighter II; Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Meh.
