Lavis Cannon

Piping for a Lavis Cannon on my Redria Fomar. I just want it for my Humar since imo it'd be an excellent addition to the SJS I already got http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif.

From the current trend I guess I'm wondering do they have a really horrible drop anything rate and the only time Pouilly Slimes will drop is when they drop the Cannon? My previous experience with Pouilly Slimes has been 1/2 drop rates and I've gotten the item every time ;$

Well toly 369 you're one of my fav posters and i will tell you this i just made an redria hunter and i plan on piping for the lavis cannon as well,
i believe its gonna happen when you least expect not om no.22 tho sooner keep trying, soon as i get to ultimate i'll be addicted to food. lol.

The drop is 1/22 I believe. I don't have a Redria, so I can't pipe for it. Got one from a trade-by-post though, but I don't really use it much as I want to find one myself (psssh yeah right), untekked and all.

The Redria droprate for Lavis Cannon from Pouilly Slime is 1/22. Their drop anything rate is 100% but if you get one from a split and you kill the blue one (or one of the blue ones if it split more than once) it will count as the drop and you won't get anything from that slime anymore, even if you split it and get a Pouilly.

You mean if you split a orange slime from a regular slime, you must continue to split the original slime to get the Pouilly Slime drop..?

No. Once you find a Pouilly, kill it first to guarantee a drop (of anything, not necessarily your rare). If you kill a blue before the Pouilly, you run the risk of the Pouilly not dropping anything.

I have gotten 3 without splitting so far and those 3 were also nothing drops, although I still split them and killed the blue slimes before taking out the original red one. And yes, I am fully aware of the 1/22 drop rate. I got my Angel Harp on my skyly from Pal Rappies on the 10th kill =p.

SO what do you guys suggest I do when I get Pouilly slimes from now on as a Fomar? I want to guarantee a drop since its such a pain in the ass piping for them in the first place. Spam Razonde? Keep in mind that I got to Ultimate with a pretty low lvl with my Fomar and he can probably get 1-hit by the Pouilly Slimes ;$. I haven't played in a while but he's lvl 70 now so he might survive if I put on 4 God/HP?

Aztec how'd you go about getting the Lavis? Did you kill the Red slime first? Or kill the blue ones and then the red one. Cause I'm thinking of getting my Fomar's lvl higher so he can do more damage with whatever spell does a 0 on the blue slimes but actually hits the red one.

And so the rare from the Pouilly Slime wouldn't drop.

When splitting, never try to kill the blue ones first. Not especially when there is a red one in the vicinity as well.

I think there are some missunderstandings.

If you play without piping you can kill the blue slimes before the red slime with out problems.
(at least on the european/PAL version (for sure, made this on my both Demolition Comets from my Skyly/Racast))

But if you pipe:
You have to let the slimes alive, or if you pipe back the slimes won't drop anything.
(I'm not sure, if you can't kill only the original slime or the original and the splitoffs, (so if you would kill the 3rd slime (but not the original), would then also stop all the other (three) slimes to drop things, when you pipe back?))

Splash, Aztec said he actually DID get his Lavis Cannon (16th Pouilly) by his methods. Hmm...so what if the blue slimes kill some of each other during my piping. Is nothing supposed to die to ensure a drop from the Pouilly? And I'm still puzzled as to why I didnt get a drop from a Pouilly that was one of the original 2 I was piping with, true I split blue ones from the Pouilly and killed the blue ones but it was one of the original two ;.

If you just happen to find a red slime (one that just appeared without being split from a blue slime) then it will drop something 100% of the time (not necessarily your rare, but it will drop something.) If you split a blue slime and a red one appears then you need to kill the red one first or it will drop nothing. If you split a blue slime and don't get any red slime but one of the split blue slimes dies, that counts as the drop (even if it dropped nothing.) At that point, no more drops can be had from that slime or any further spawns of that slime. So basically if you split a slime into 4 blue slimes and one of them dies, that counts as the drop so even if you pipe back to P2 and go back down and split it, nothing more will drop from either the original or any splits off of the original.

Maybe I'll just pipe with 2 w/o splitting and just kill the red one right off the bat, it doesnt matter if the other original blue one dies first does it?


This was SO much simpler with a 1/2 Demo Comet drop rate or a 1/22 Pal Rappy Angel Harp drop rate -.-. I got tired of piping for slimes one day on my redria, went to pipe for pal rappies, got 3 red handguns in less than an hour argh >.<

If you were to pipe a room with 2 slimes (without any splitting) and one of them comes up red, then you can certainly kill the other blue slime first since it has nothing to do with the red one and won't effect the red slimes drop.

Yeah Violet you got all the point! The Red Slime has nothing to do with the blue one so you can kill whatever you want first, that won't affect the drop.
Now, if you kill a splited blue slime during the pipping I suppose THAT could affect the drops as posted above. I always kill the blue slimes first EVERYTIME I find a pouilly and I happen to get my rares this way so...

toly369 is correct, you can't get a Lavis from Ult Bluefull Forest. In Bluefull, only a Sinow Red drops a Lavis Cannon. Were you online or playing multi-player maybe? The drops are determined by the creator/leader's ID online and by Player 1's ID in multi-player.
