I remember once years ago playing Castlevania Symphony of the Night on my PS2 and my mom was over visiting my house. She saw Alucard on my TV screen thwacking away at baddies and said, "That girl has pretty hair." I about fell off my couch, I was LOLing so hard. I tried to explain to her that the main character of SOTN was a male vampire, but since she was not familiar with any japanese games, anime, or culture, she just didn't see it or get it. But then again, my mother read all the Anne Rice vampire novels and didn't seem to catch on to all the veiled homosexuality in that either. I could probably read a yaoi manga in front of her and she wouldn't notice a thing. XD
