A machianima using the PSU/AoI game engine to recreate the Phantasy Star Memorial Drama CD. The script is currently being translated, and while we won't be able to get exact matches for character designs - we could get close. PSU has enough varried terrain to recreate (or approximate) the locations.

What do you guys think?

100% agree with that suggestion CD Drama are great in a way (if you can understand them), but I like to have a visual of things

Good idea! We could probably even go beyond that and make machinima remakes of the actual PS games. I would make a good PSIV Seth.

I think that such a thing would make an excellent addition to the Fan Media Theater, Sinue.

Though, I think it's been quite some time since that drama CD's translation has been updated. I recall several years ago (the better part of a decade, even) that the translation was still in-progress and moving very slowly.

If need be though, I think we can certainly find someone on PSO-World who could translate the remainder in a timely fashion.

While it is moving slowly, work is still being done on it. Diana finished up Scene IV last october, and has made a good deal of progress into Scene V already. There's only, what, two more scenes and an epilouge after that? It'll still take some time to finish up the script (she's also translating the fanbook which came with the CD), and this isn't something we'd really want to start until AoI is out here - or perhaps even the expansion after that.

Who else did you know who was doing a translation?

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif even my replies are late!

well i am slow, yes. a decade ago -- well ok, that was around october 2001, so six years ago, yes.. i was 16 at the time.
it was funny, though, there was 3 of us working on it at first. me, my friend rachel, and Risa who was visiting for a year from Japan. Risa's English was so terrible that she made no sense a lot, and the same could be said about me and Rachel's japanese. so we never really made it past 8 or 10 minutes of translation. it was pretty sad http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

then last year i started again, got stuck on the scene with Gene. 0_0; but i just received some help with the transcribing, now the translation is probably going to be finished within 2 weeks now. I have no excuse for taking 6 years to translate it, but at least i'm trying? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif; it's 82% now and have been making really good progress this month.

UnholyBlood, maybe a decade or so ago, Sega produced a radio play-style production of a story set in the universe of the original Phantasy Star series. It was released on CD and in Japan, only. Sinue here has proposed using a translation of that story and Phantasy Star Universe to create a video version of it, in English. That is what this discussion is about.
