Quick Wii help

so I literally just got a Wii and I'm a n00b, and since I sold my GC, I'm going to have to use it to play gamecube games. Therefore, I am wondering where you plug the gamecube controller in, because it doesn't look like there is a place on the system. Can anyone lend me a hand?

Also, doesn't the Wii come with this new invention called a.........
