challenge mode fun..

tonite i think i played my best and the funnest challenge mode i've done in a long time it was C1 w/ 2 other people, a FOnewearl named Bob Dobbs, and a HUcast named WILLOW. Everyone cooperated and we got a time of 14:40!! soo happy

Challenge mode is simply a beautiful thing when everyone knows that they're doing. I miss the TA days when we all knew what the other players were up to and did everything right w/o saying a word.

Now you have to be able to do it without saying a word, it's way to tedius to type out what somebody is supposed to do without a keyboard. It's tedius enough to do it with a keyboard.

It's funny when you find a JP player that is new to C-mode and have to show them what to do. I guess I'm just used to all the c-mode masters from V2.

C-Mode is damn hard. I started it with a friend, we both never played before. We ended up quitting 5 minutes into it.

Pretty good time for only 3 people! Try it again with a different section ID and 4 people and you'll do even better; try going for under 12 minutes, it's not as easy as it sounds. Hella fun though.

And milk, don't give up, whatever you do. Give it a try tonight during the weekly C mode whoopteedee in Anteres 6 and we can show ya the ropes.
And anyway, playing with only 2 players is damn difficult, 4 is a must.

I think when I get home I will try this "challenge" mode. Haven't tryed it but have been wondering about it. Do you get anything special for doing it? And would anyone be willing to play at about 12:45 A.M. tonight, central time?

Annorax: Ohh, do you ever get a reward for C mode! Beating all 9 challenges with a total time of under 7 hours (and no, you DON'T have to sit there for 7 whole hours, it's the grand total of all C times http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif), you get to choose from a LONG list of pretty much every weapon type imaginable... Enter: The S-rank weapon. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif You get to choose the weapon type (saber, sword, slicer, rifle, spread, etc etc), and then you get to give it a name of your choice. For example, on PSO v2, my RAmar had the Ronin Rifle (which btw, I lost to a disconnection, GRR) and... a Needle with a prefix that I can't remember. Anyway, that alone rocks, but not only do these suckers have amazingly high attack power from the start, they also grind up to +99. IMO, THE best weapons in the game.
But wait, there's MORE! The "special" on these is either gonna be your best friend, or your worst nightmare: It randomly casts an effect on a monster out of a list of about 10 or so effects, including ultra-high level Shifta, Deband, Jellen and Zalure (you do not want that Shifta to hit, trust me), Resta, instant death, freeze, paralysis, and a few others I can't remember offhand. Anyway, incredible weapons, and that's the main C mode prize.
Otherwise... on V2, you could also win special Ring items, that were basically high level shields with pretty sweet effects/stat boosts. You got these by getting an "A rank" time I believe, or simply playing a game or two of C mode after gaining S-rank if you hadn't gotten one already.

I'm gonna be there from 11PM CT until I can't take it any longer, so look out for a green and purple HUcaseal named Chloe, most likely hanging with 2 friends.

I'm still looking for peeps to play Challenge Mode with, ppl who dont rush in and get killd right away but instead play with brains, for C-Mode takes a lot of time. Anoorax, good to see you here on PSOW, I believe we used to PSO together, well Im stoked on my FOnewearl as of NOW so I'll be more han happy to aid with a FO on the side of anyones VENTURE through C-Mode. Sure, join us sometime! Our normal hangout spot (my friends and I usually) is Anteres 7-1, so check around there usually. We often play in Anteres 8 and Vega 1 or 2 though, so check around there, too.
Far as C mode, we'll usually do that once a week, every Friday night in Anteres 6.
We learned the other night that it's definitely best to make password protected games, 'cause man do those games fill up fast. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif My two companions were trapped outside at least twice, we made p/w games the rest of the night and had a blast. It really sucks having to ask someone to leave a game, or ditching the game like I had to do last night, I felt bad about that. I'll be using either Ghaleon or Kirika next week since Chloe's times are gonna be difficult to improve, so keep an eye out for 'em!

And Moola? Jeez, I have no idea how to use that. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif Never found one... I think it does combine with a fully grinded baton though, unless that's another special item. I assume it's any baton, but someone else will have to clarify.

I'll break in old and new players on it. Only thing i ask is that you can handle yourself in a basic fight.

I love C-mode. It's a lot more fun when you can cooperate with the person you are playing with. And that they know what they're doing. It's kind of annoying to have some new person run back and forth between rooms trying to find something new AFTER you told them that we have to move on.

As he said, it's slow, and annoying to have to type everything out with the in-game keyboard. And when you have someone who's newer, and have to explain everthing to them, it can get VERY tiring.
