hey guys i was just wondering... if i were to hook my gamecube up to my monitor, i would only need a tv tuner card that had the right aud/vid inputs right? im looking at this...

http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage.asp?image=15-116-302-01.JPG/15-116-302-02.JPG/15-116-302-03.JPG

im a big ATi fan, and i chill at the rage3d forums so don't flame ATi in front of me, but see that one adapter with the red and white? im pretty sure thats all i need for it to work... someone verify this.

if the link above doesn't work, then go to http://www.newegg.com and go to product category, then video device add on, then ati, then the second one down.

whadya think?

I think that, unless you positively need to make snapshots of PSO, you would be much better using a VGA cable to directly link your GC to your monitor.
You'll enjoy a much better picture.

You can also easily modify an existing GC component cable into a VGA one.
(needs 2 wires and a tiny bit of solder)

As this isn't an official product, retail stores won't carry it.
You need to order it from a specialized shop.
You should get all online shops carrying it by typing 'GC VGA cable' or 'gamecube VGA cable' in Google.

contrary to the Xbox VGA cable, anyone can do the GC one. So it's more easily available.

It should be noted that with the vga cables, you can only play games that support pro scan on your monitor.

So if you're just doing it for PSO, you will be in good shape http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

So if you were to use this cable to connect the Gamecube to a PC monitor, would it be processing the signal sent to the monitor with the computer itself? Or would the monitor simply take input from the Gamecube instead of the computer? If the signal does go through the computer, is it possible to switch between inputs (regular computer desktop/ gamecube) freely?

No computer is involved. The signal goes straight from the gamecube to the monitor.

Personally I like what my brother did with his comp

Console -> VCR -> Comp -> Monitor

It's like the ultimate entertainment system. Need help with a quest while in game...you just shrink the vid window and goto a chat room ;D good stuff

Also works well if you don't have a DC or GC keyboard, just meet in a chat room with the ppl you're playing with, and you're off

Hi @all,

I have a PAL Cube and want to hook up my Cube to my TFT-monitor (Sony SDM-S51) can I use my monitor with this cable, too, or can I buy me a VGA-Box?

I ask because someone told me that I can't use my TFT with a VGA-Box, but I don't belive it.
