PSOBB: I can't type on PSOBB!

I just fell in love with PSO again on the GC, but I want to play with people.. as in PSOBB servers. So I renewed my PSOBB thing and downloaded it again (DSL). But the problem is, I cant type at all in it. I tried to download a patch to see if it would help, and it tells me I downloaded a virus called mal/hack/pck D. It says its in a Gameguard thing from the patch. I have Sophos Antivirus. I cant even put in my user ID and password. So now you see my problem. Please help me?

I had this problem too.

If you have windows:
Disable advanced text.
Use help and support center and type in "advanced text", and there should be a topic on it. Turning it on and off.
I think there is an option that makes you type in English so choose that.

DId you get rid of the virus? if you didn't, do this:
Windows:
My computer->C-Drive (if that is your main drive) -> Program files-> SEGA.
Then look for the PSOBB folder, It probably will be spelled out. Look for the Gameguard folder and scan it, but don't go in it.

If you need help on a Mac, then I really can't help you, sorry. :/

what?! now when i try to play the game, before opening, it says
"2007 05/20 22:45:21 GameGuard Error(153): GameGuard runtime error. Please e-mail the *,erl files in your GameGuard folder."
so what does it want me to do?

that message is gone now, but it keeps.. not launching

Did you try uninstalling it and reinstalling it? Are you playing on private servers? If so, then you might have a problem with the host IP file. PM me if you use private servers.

actually i downloaded it and uninstalled it around 8 times. lol
now i can actually type! yay.. but the virus thing is still stopping me.
