Bunny is playing this game on the normal difficulty. Dont know, but Bunny got defeated by those mini bosses a lot of time, and is kinda upset a little. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif Come on now, those charging attack from the mini boss does around 215 damge and their stomping does 181 damage! >.> And those bosses are sure hard sometime like that little dragon boss fight (around chap. 6 last act)...omg...a puny little dragon that can kill you in one hit! Bunny cant imaging playing this game on hard. >.>

Some have been complaining about slowdown in older PS2's (first gen) - anybody notice any problems?

I have a slim PS 2, and slowdown has been minimal so far. But I am only on chp 1..

Xeku, I too am a big fan of Princess Crown. I paid $70 fo the game back then. Darn pricey imports >_<. I still have the game and a Victor brand V-Saturn.

I still need to test all the Saturn Emulators to see if any of them will run Princess Crown; I'd love to see what it looks like with the hi-res sharpness of my flat-screen monitor.

Once you get Odin Sphere there's a lot you will recongonize from Princess Crown, it's *almost* a sequel but with a different world/backstory unrelated to PC (but it wouldn't be to much of a stretch to connect them...)

*But* it would of been sweet *if* Galadriel was an unlockable hidden character. I loved her "evil" form she could transform into.

Heh...I hear you. I actually gave it a spin the other night.....still great after all these years, and nothing else like it (aside from Odin Spehere).
I think I scored it for around $60, when it first came out.
I must have spent $1000's during this era....have a nice collection of Import Saturn (and a few PS) games though.

I haven't had much luck with the Saturn emulators, and am still thinking about a VGA upscan converter for my older consoles.
If you can get it working, I'd like to hear how it runs..

I've gotten slowdown like 3 times.
Once during the Dragon Boss in the first stage, when all that debris is dropping.
Once in the forest, I casted cyclone on a shitload of enemies.
And once when fighting Velvet.

another advice to level up HP: Bunny usually go to that Cafe area at Pooka village. The ingredients needed were Yogurt (combine milk with "0" material), egg (can be found at that ice area), and 5 dollar coin thing. to get more eggs: simply put down your current obtain egg...the egg will hatch, then start dropping seed of any kind. 3 seeds will make the baby chicken into a big chicken. I never thought to make the chicken produce eggs, that's a great idea since it fails as a food item.

Oya, egg omelets were are a real easy way to quickly level up your HP. Just farm eggs, and its easy too cause seeds are everywhere.
The chicken meat isn't that bad, the recovery sucks but the EXP it gives is good.

I just finished Gwendolyn's book and I gotta say that I love the classic fairy tale storyline.
Gwendolyn's final boss was madd hard, not only cause of the difficulty of the game, but also becuase of the friggen slowdown, it was crazy.

The game is challenging, the item system is well done (even addicting trying to make fruit and eat it to gain HP), and the battle system is picture perfect. They bosses are how they should be in any game, take up the whole screen and epicly hard.

Having mad HP helps a lot in bosses battle. Mercedes last boss battle was a breeze cause Bunny got her hp to about 1.1k, and she does 400 damge per shot of the bullets. As for Osward, he is probably the hardest character to play. You start out with very little healing potion and have to battle with tough bosses. Once you get his hp to 1.2k, the battle will be a breeze except for the last boss. Osward - the shadow knight - The dragon that Osward killed in the first scene told Osward of his future that his only destiny was to meet with the bird. Osward was confused of what the dragon ment. Osward only obey his foster father's order. He have killed many and a cold hearted person. Until the day when his foster father plan failed to killed Queen Mercedes. His father told Osward that he was only using him and never once love him. Osward have lost his willing to live in the world. He was killed by the grim reaper afterward. Osward was losing all hopes and he was lost. Until a bird image shows up and lead him to the queen of the netherworld. Osward follow the queen's order and defeated Odin, who ventured in the netherworld. Odin promised Osward to take him out of the netherworld if he spare him. Odin asked Osward to helped him battle another dragon on ice mountain. If Osward comply, Odin's daughter, Gwendolyn, will be his wife. Osward remember at that moments that the bird was Gwendolyn's spirit. Osward battle the dragon and defeated the dragon and obtain a valuable ring from the dragon. As promised, Odin give his daughter to Osward, but she is in a deep sleep spell. The first person to kissed her will wake her up. At that moments, a sorcerer came in and adopted Gwen from Osward. Osward ventured off and defeated the sorcerer, but the sorcerer told him that the King of Inferno has her. Osward went to hot volcano to bring Gwen back. He battle the Fire King and defeated him. Osward brought back Gwen. He promised to himself that he wont treat her like an object like how Odin and the Fire King treated her.

Gwendolyn - the valkyrie - marry Osward because she was punished by Odin and striped of her duties. She was put to sleep by a spell by Odin, a spell that cause her to be faithful and love that person when she wakes up. Gwen wakes up and the first person she saw was Osward. She havent realized what Osward have gone through to save her. Osward was upset when Gwen give the wedding ring to Odin. He got killed by the grim reaper. Realizing her mistake, she ventured to the netherworld to bring back her husband. She battle the queen of the netherworld and defeated the queen. Unnoticing that by defeating the queen, Gwen has unleased hell to the whole world. The powerful kings that were sealed by the queen are now free to roamed the land. Gwen doesnt care whatever happened to the world at that time as long she got her husband back. The two finally gotten together and Osward promised to make her happy no matter what.

Ending book: Osward must battle to free himself from the curse that is place upon him in order for him to live with Gwen.
Gwendolyn must battle with Leviathan. The biggest dragon in the game to save the world from chaos. In ending book, each main characters must battle alone with final ending bosses in order to see another real ending.

I only just finished Cornelius' book. Part of me wishes that it ended sadly because it would have felt right with the way his story went.

the ending book was probably the best book out of all the other books. The bosses music were really nice. FYI, the ending was really lovely and wrapped up the whole story up rather good. Doesnt leave the players doubt or any sad feeling.
Odin Sphere has the best ending Bunny have ever seen. The ending is worth playing throught the 5 books to get to the last book.

Odin die too. Griselda is the bird blue. Ingway die. Mercedes die and became the world's tree, Yddrasil. All the characters die except Gwen, Osward, Cornelius, and Velvet.

I'm playing as Cornelius now, he seems to be stronger than Gwen, and at first I missed being able to fly, but his mid-air spin attack rules! I'm totally loving the story, it's such a mystery! Found out why he got transformed into a Pooka, man, Ingway is a dickweed. Just need to figure out how he ended up in the underworld now.

Can someone please explain to me why some gamers are so adament to flame, criticize Odin Sphere when they've *never* even played the game, sometime based only on still pics or low-quality BLURRY F*king vids on a website like YouTube?

Some people treat any game remotely 2-D or "unique" like its cancer or the plague. And bash it in every way possible. WTF is up with that?

people tend to criticize things they never tried out before? or they just wanna be biased about it? Not everything will be accepted by others like anime, for example. Close minded people are the worst type of people anyone can handle. Dont even bother convincing them. >__>

Is anyone else tired of this game? I'm on Pooka Prince Epilogue Act 3, and I just can't stay motivated to finish his book. This is my second attempt at it since I just got bored and turned it off last time. The alchemy system gets on my nerves, it would be better if you could just pick what you want from a list and it gets made with the appropriate materials instead of having to mix a material with a seed, then the item drops to the ground, then I gotta walk over and pick it up, then do it again, then again, then mix it with whatever vegetable I need to get the potion I want, then sometimes I slip up and mix the wrong thing and waste the materials.

I just finished it all yesterday, except I'm missing the final cutscene. Is this because I didn't get all the recipes? I have to say, there's a lot going against this game. The areas and enemies can get rather dull after just going through them twice. Having to use Velvet...UGH. The main part of the difficulty lies in the fact that characters take so little damage. (At least Mercedes makes up for her low HP by being able to shoot powerful bullets.)

But the story actually made me forget what was wrong with the game. Unlike most heavily-flawed games, this one's story and style worked greatly to its advantage. And the ending credits theme is probably the best I've ever heard.

True, the story is awesome, it's probably the only reason I've stuck with it this far, cuz yeah, it does get hella repetitive, which is a weird thing to say because that's what video games are, repetitive.
