Also, an awesome, ass-kicking, alliterative assault on the forum. (and yes, I know reiteration of a vowel is repetition, not alliteration http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif)

Anywho, I rented Kung Fu Hustle; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; and Fearless. Stuff I've been meaning to watch for some time. My thoughts are as follows:

Kung Fu Hustle: Goddamn, this has to be the craziest action movie I've ever seen, this is definitely going into my collection.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sweet zombie Jesus on a pogo stick, this movie is fucking amazing.

Fearless: Well, I haven't watched this yet, I'll get back to you on this one.

EEEEhhhh, I didn't like Kung FU Hustle that much. Shaolin Soccer is a better Stephen Chow movie.
I saw CT,HD once years ago, I don't remember much of it. I'll probably give it another look see sometime this usmmer.
Fearless, never seen.

I'd probably enjoy Kung Fu Hustle, and I really want to see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

My favorite martial arts film is, without a doubt, Story of Ricky. Oh, yes.

I will add that one to my list for future viewing. Go see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon without delay!

I have a few favorites: The Transporter, Kiss of the Dragon, Legend of the Drunken Master, and Project A

Fearless is pretty good.

Jet Li beats up a challenger while holding an umbrella upright the whole time; cockiest thing you're going to see out of him outside of those wire acts in the other movies he made. Kind of a inconclusive way to end his martial arts movie career although he ties in the reason to the person the movie is about and similarities in the age #.

Shaolin Soccer, much funnier movie sure. Kung Fu Hustle was more action and special effects.

That was an example of alliteration, actually.

Legend of the Flying Guillotine is pretty nifty, in an old fashioned kind of way. Hero was okay, I actually like it a little better than Crouching, but maybe only because Jet Li is in it. Jet Li's series of "The Legend" movies are good, but don't watch the dubbed versions.

Equilibrium was actually kinda stupid, in hindsight.

Yeah, definitely add Hero to your list since you liked Crouching Tiger. I really liked both of those movies myself.

Yes, the topic title is alliteration, which is reiteration of a consonant, the first line of the post is repetition, since it's reiteration of a vowel. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

How about House of Flying Daggers? I might check that one out too.

I didn't like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon very much. Way too much of the action revolved around lifting the actors up with visible wires, and frankly, they didn't even do a very good job of making them look like they were jumping or flying instead of being hoisted. That seriously blew the movie for me.

Add Shaolin Soccer and House of Flying Daggers to that list.

Both Shaolin Soccer and House of Flying Daggers are at the top of my kung fu list.

But Master of the Flying Guillotine is the top. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Yeah, the whole flying over forests and stuff while fighting killed Crouching Tiger for me, too.

Versus has to be my favorite martial arts movie; not well known, and kinda low budget and
campy, but the fights are completely amazing, and it has some kinda funny dark humor in it. Completely worth watching, and you can see almost all of it on youtube, though i recommend renting or buying it (undubbed, of course).
