Is there a specific level the gun has to be in order to combine the parts and the gun, or do you just have to have the gun and the parts and be the level?

Also, is there a difference between the four guns? Or is it the same? I'm jw if I need to go get my Raygun off my old char.

Here's what I have in a magazine excerpt:

Egg Parts + Handgun (for best results) + Char. Lv 50 w/145^ ATA = EGG BLASTER w/+300 ATP and +14 ATA

As for your second question, are you meaning 4 basic guns? Because yes, the next color up is best. Raygun is the best of basic handgun.

Sweet. My current weapons are starting to be worthless in Hard mode, and I wasn't going to see which of my old char's had some better weapons.

So combining the Egg Parts with a Raygun will make a better Egg Blaster weapon then combining it with a standard Handgun or even an auto gun?

The "base" item used in a combination does not affect the end result. The only thing that matters at all is %s, so generally weapons with high hit% are most common when used in item combinations.

What of the summit moon type weapons? (YOu have to be lvl 100 to use the cane type, 110 for the next level of canes, 120 and so on?) Do the weapon types change with that, or is it just a situation where you have better chances with hit and %'s on a higher lvel of that weapon, so the character level required is higher? Or does that affect the weapon's stats? (I have a cane with 35% hit and 30 in both dark and forest, i wanted to use it at lvl 100)

Only %s carry over. The different level reqs is probably due to the higher weapons often having better %s.

In other words:

Cane+55 + LV100 = Summit Moon
Stick+40 + LV110 = Summit Moon
Mace+25 + LV120 = Summit Moon
Club+10 + LV130 = Summit Moon

No matter which way you do it, the end result will always be the same. Now on the other hand, had there be percents:

Cane+55 (0/0/10/0) + LV100 = Summit Moon (0/0/10/0)
Club+10 (20/30/0/0/25) + LV130 = Summit Moon (20/30/0/0/25)

And so on and so forth. This applies to all combination weapons.
