Computer sound not working

Ya so the sound isn't working. I am running windows XP. I don't believe the monitor has speakers, but I have speakers here anyways. the taskbar or toolbar (whatver you call it) at the bottom right shows no speaker to indicate volume adjustment and the control panel tells me I have no device.

Help me please.

Do you use a Sound Card, or onboard sound?

If it just started, what have you recently installed or done that is 'out of the ordinary' for you? Odds are you installed something on the computer, or had something happen, that caused it.

The sound wasn't working when i began using the computer, it is the comp at my work.

Fixed it! Just needed to find the right driver.
