I have decided to lead a final attempt at reviving PSOX.
This requires 3 primary objectives...
1.Sega has to eliminate the Hunter's liscence fee.
2.Sega needs to contact Microsoft about making PSO backwards compatable on 360.
3.Microsoft has to make PSOX backwards compatible on 360.

Bonus Objective: Sega or Microsoft needs to get rid of the christmas lobbys and unlock all events and quests as a final update.

They could make Apatite normal theme, Benetoit valentines theme, Celestite white day theme, Davburite Christmas theme, and Epdote easter theme. That should cover all the events.

Tools to acheive these objectives:
Send PMs to Clumsyorchid (http://boards2.sega.com/psu_board/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=12683), eggshen (http://boards2.sega.com/psu_board/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=36501), and Superfuzz (http://boards2.sega.com/psu_board/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=42857) at Sega.

and send PMs to Major Nelson (http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx?pp=0&GamerTag=Major%20Nelson) at Microsoft.

You can also contact Sega by sending them feedback through their feedback system for PSU at http://phantasystaruniverse.com/support_contact.php

You can send microsoft feedback at http://forums.xbox.com/9/ShowForum.aspx

Please dont spam PMs or else they won't pay attention to us, be persistant but don't spam. Send 2 PMs max per day per account and tell your friends to do it too.

Remember, when we tried this about 2 years ago we only had a few phone numbers and an email address, now we have even more ways to get in touch with Sega and MS, let's make good use of them.

Instead of haressing several people, why don't you try to rally your friends to just play the game? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

With the current, small player base, why would Sega and Mircrosoft possibly want to spend resources and money, to meet these objectives? Sending PM's to any site's admins, or even to Major "absolutely no mouthpiece of Microsoft" Nelson, won't persuade either company.
The only way to show there's still life left in PSOX, is to populate the servers in abundance again.

If you can manage that, well, then you already succeeded in reviving PSOX. And if you still want to try the other objectives, then at least you have a sizable group behind you. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I sold my old xbox to get a 360, I can't play PSOX anymore because it's not backwards compatible. I want to get rid of the monthly fee because we are paying for nothing now.

Clumsy and the other admins can now talk with Sonicteam, Clumsy has done this several times recently.

Major Nelson is the director of programming for xbox live, he has the ability to talk directly with the Xbox360 backwards compatability team and other sections of the xbox team.

If enough people contact them about it they will notice that there is a consumer demand for it and make it happen.

The servers won't repopulate because there are some people stuck on 360 like me and others refuse to play it anymore as long as there is a monthly fee and no updates.

The servers are hosted by microsoft so the only monthly fee it needs is the XBL gold fee, sega sends update information to microsoft to put onto the server. Sega is in control of the Hunter's Liscence fee though.

Sega stopped sending updates because PSOX-JP had no more users and they just never stopped the monthly fee. SoA stopped the updates when SoJ stopped the updates.

At the very least we just need to get sega to stop the monthly fee and the population will grow.

I have found the email to suggest games for the backwards compatability on 360.

The email address is [email protected]

yeah i dont think any of those will work simply because our game doesnt have the word HALO in the title, so i dont think we will ever get noticed http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

If Barbie™ Horse Adventures™ Wild Horse Rescue™ managed to be backwards compatible I'm pretty sure that we can get them to make PSO backwards compatible.

I'm sure PSO is gonna require a lot more coding that those games, and knowing microsoft being lazy people it still probably won't happen.

Be that as it may, lazy as they may be, it wouldn't hurt to make an attempt. Letting it die without putting up a "fight" or in this case continuing play, well it doesn't seem very gamer-like.

True. But... knowing Macroshaft, it won't happen.

Those games are BC because other more popular games used a similar engine.

I send e-mails quite often about games I want BC. PSO is my main one im mailing about right now. I need to get back on it. I believe e-mailing has some effects as the majority of the games I have been mailing about have poped up on the recent BC lists. Also the next update is most likely to be in august as M$ has been issuing them in 4 month periods. So we need to catch up on this. I wish there was a better way to contact sega about the HL fee though. Major Nelson is also a good person to get in contact with as far as xbox goes.
