First off, Rants (http://www.pso-world.com/viewforum.php?forum=11), second, they shut them down because Gamecube's gettin' ready to be defunct, I believe; also they weren't makin' enough money to justify keepin' it open, lastly, there is always Blue Burst, or those servers we're not allowed to talk about. ;]

Nothing can last forever, and GC will sadly be passed away soon...

Sadly the game will eventually die too.....with the end of production of gamecubes and the fact that pso destroys our gamecubes little by little every time we telepipe. It will eventually be a game taht we look at and wish we could play.....unless u get a wii

The consensus is that the extensive loading and disc reading PSO makes the Gamecube do, decreases the Gamecube's lifespan by wearing out the lens and discdrive. Disc reading and loading is most prominent during telepiping, though this isn't the only instance where PSO makes the gamecube work hard.
Eventually, it will lead to DREs (Disc read errors).

I get disc read errors sometimes on all my games. Just grab a few Q-Tips and gently swab the lens.

It's true. PSO destroyed two of my Dreamcasts and one GameCube.

Although I never did the piping trick, I did play extensively.
