Silly PINKAL, really good stuff is for other people!

I'm a HUmar PINKAL (I created my character long before knowing a thing about section IDs) .. and I've only found three things that have ever served me well: MUSASHI, GAE BOLG, and STAG CUTLERY. I have a YAMATO now (traded with a friend offline for it), but the others I still have .. and they're not doing a great job anymore. Ultimate is tough, and it's not so easy to get by.. anyway .. I've found plenty of rare wands and such (all of which are nine star) .. but other than that, nothing else of use. I did get a DELSABER'S BUSTER by running the mines in Very Hard (I believe it was VH), and I found a MAHU somewhere throughout my travels (which is still useless to me anyway) .. but .. not much else.

My friend found an INFERNO BAZOOKA from an Al Rappy once .. he told me about it. I've never even seen any rare monsters .. so I can't go and search them out (unless you truly can find rare rappies in the Fake in Yellow quest). Hmm .. well, let me put down what I have .. oh, I almost forgot, I did find a CUSTOM RAY ver.00 today.. YAMATO, STAG CUTLERY, CUSTOM RAY ver.00, GAE BOLG .. and a few other things, like BRIONACs and such .. but they aren't of any use to me any longer..

So, what do you recommend? I do have seven other characters, but the highest level out of them is 23. He's a SKYLY, so I am trying to find rares with him .. but I only just beat Normal with him.

you'll find high-level-techdisks then - they'll be a good trade, imho. also high-level-techdisks give good money if sold (i dunno if they changed that but i dont think so...).

I do get some pretty high level disks .. it's not uncommmon for me to find L15-25 disks. I found a Grants L20 the other day..

Too bad most Pinkals spend HOURS piping for that Agito and end up getting Meseta every time. *coughMunkicough* Has any Pinkal actually found this yet on the GC? Or is another unconfimed thing like Viridia getting the Yasha?

PAL RAPPIES


They can keep their stupid agito for all I care. Grrrrr.
I have heard of people finding it (Agito) after about 6-7 Pal Rappies, but I can attest that I have killed close to 25 of the #&*$(@(*#&#(*@&%*($ and I have never gotten anything rarer than a dragon frame... sigh.

Pinkal is also a confirmed ID to find the Partisan of Lightning from the Gol Dragon in Ultimate, which currently you can trade for SOULS if you want.

I think it's just a matter of getting high enough in levels that you do find something. And if you don't, there are always workarounds. Stockpile Materials (Especially Power and Mind mats). With the limit on how many you can use you shouldn't be guzzling the things indiscriminately ANYWAY. 10 Pow mats will buy you some pretty sweet stuff.

Also, consider Mag farming. In about the time it would take someone to get something cool off an Al Rappy, i can have a fully grown Mind mag, which I can trade to a force for Demolition Comets, Meteor Cudgels, Human Sacrifices... you name it. And I can do it while playing normally, too. (Just feed it difluids. They're common enough in Vhard and Ultimate. Just don't screw the Force out of 'em). Same with a Pow Mag.

If you're stuck offline, then it's just a matter of time and levels. I think rares are tied to time played, level and difficulty... and if they don't synch you get blacked out. For instance, a Whitill at lvl 80 in Ultimate will find NOTHING... not a single red box. Now that I'm lvl 105, I'm slowly finding red boxes again.

Hang around Vhard Ruins for a while to level. Pinkal isn't a bad ID at all, I think you've just been having bad luck.

My ranged weapon for my HUmar bites. Utterly. I have a GUILTY LIGHT that my RAmarl uses (thanks to Blade_1 for that), but my HUmar has nothing better than a CUSTOM RAY ver.00. That's sad, really. Like I'd said somewhere here.. my friend'd found an INFERNO BAZOOKA from a Pal Rappy in Hard Mode.. and I have yet to see a single rare monster ... aside from one time when I saw a red lily in the caves a long time ago, but it obviously wasn't a big deal because I got nothing good. I'm afraid that's almost as good as it gets for HU's when it comes to guns. I have a lvl 86 HUcaseal on ULT and she's still using a Varista (only slightly better than the Custom), I'd kill for a red handgun but I'm an offline only player so I can't trade, no luck finding one yet.

Found two ELYSIONs .. one through sheer luck in the "Staking a Claim" (might have the name wrong) quest .. and then again through piping in the "Fake in Yellow". You're lucky, you don't want to know how long I TP'd last night to try and get a PAL Rappy (drops Gaurd Wave supposedly) and didn't see jack... I must have went through a couple hundred telepipes (at least, I TP'd for 4 hours, although I was reading boards at the same time...)

ahh well, such is my luck sometimes... A few days ago I played for 14 hours straight and only saw two rares.. one at the very beggining (a Blade Dance, to bad I've already had ten of those.) and at the end a photon drop (I play offline, worthless to me..) and this was in Very Hard mode...

Heh, I'm not that lucky .. that's the best item I've ever found, aside from a useless MAHU. Everything else has been 9-star wands, and the occasional decent weapon .. most of which I don't even use any longer.

I almost forgot! Try piping for Al Rappies in the Forest on Hard. They drop INFERNO BAZOOKAs for a lot of IDs, and I believe yours is one of them. I've been piping for Pals for a bit too. My longest stretch is 15 minutes, so I don't get too many. I've run across 3-4 so far and have gotten digrinder, meseta, meseta.

I'm trying to get a guard wave, because I can use it in 4 levels, and I haven't seen any armor better than Holiness thus far.

I don't know if I'm doing somethine wrong (the trick has worked for me before with Mil Lillies) but I piped for four hours the other day with 4 El's in the room and never saw a single PAL, and now I just piped for another hour in a room with five and have still yet to see a single PAL Rappy...

I HATE RAPPY'S!!!!!! I can't even explain the shear torture I would put a Rappy through IRL, I'd probly get banned from here if I got into the description.. hehe.. ahh now if only they were real..
